Lovely stop for food around Brecon Beacons, didn’t have a booking but they still had space.Starters were Sweet Potato and Pepper Soup or Garlic Mushrooms and both of them were really piping hot and fantastic.Sunday roast was fantastic with loads of veggies and a really nicely made Cauliflower Cheese. Special mention to the Lamb roast! We barely had room for dessert but we decided to go with the Crunchie and Biscoff Sundae (on a Sunday), a lush finish to kickstart our 4 hour drive back to london.Lovely service, would be back when we visit Brecon Beacons again!

Generous portions, meat was so tender, everything full of flavour. Puddings were delicious too. Will visit again :-)

I highly recommend a Sunday lunch at the Nantyffin, especially in December as there is roast turkey & Christmas pudding on the menu. The food is absolutely delicious, plentiful & cooked to perfection. All meats are slow roasted, so they just melt in your mouth. I had the turkey, & can honestly say it's the best I've had in a long time. The staff are lovely, very accommodating & cheery. It's a very busy & bustling place, but nothing is too much trouble.I encourage everyone to sample the delights of Nantyffin, but advise booking, as it's full to the rafters on a sunday.

Food was served very quick after ordering and piping hot. Tasted great, had the lamb roast, slightly disappointed with the meat but having said that for the price shouldn't really grumble. Server's were polite and well spoken.

Had lunch here today with family. Nice enough bars and atmosphere. We got seated in their restaurant and it was nice. Confidence was high and we had researched this pub and hooked our trip out today into a visit specifically to itThe staff were helpful and our order was taken quickly and drinks provided quickly enough. But the food took quite some time to arrive (30+ minutes). When it arrived there was quite a bit of difference between the quality of some of the orders. Steaks were good, substantial and seasoned well. But the fish and chips / scampi and chips were not the best at all.I had the fish and chips (pictured and that is a small oval plate... don't be fooled by the dimensions... check scale against the fork). It was a small piece and slightly over done as well. I would have expected way more food for the price as well as a decent tartare or equivalent sauce. Chips though we're excellent but again... too few.I have had fish and chips up and down the UK and this one was definitely the smallest serving in a long while (even adding in takeaways). Go for the steaks. Cooked to order and done well. 4* for steaks but 2 of us left today having 2.5* food experience.

We booked for Sunday lunch at 12 pm. For 10 peopleWe arrived at 12pm and were shown to our table, drinks orders were taken around 12-20 then food orders were taken around 12-35,I cannot complain about the food as it was lovely, however at 1-40 the table was cleared after starters and mains and at 1-45 a waitress took our desert order,After placing the order we were asked to vacate our table and go to sit in the bar or gazebo as they needed our table !Although we found this very unusual we did as asked and looked in the bar (full)and made our way to the gazebo to find all tables had people sat at them. After speaking to at least 4 members of the waiting staff who all said they would refer the issue to the manager,we were left stood outside with no seats and deserts on order.Eventually a couple of diners left the gazebo and we then had a table to sit and eat our deserts at 2-20pm.A gentleman did eventually come to us who I imagine was the manager and apologised and said they would not charge for the deserts and said he would look into how this had happened. We have eaten here on numerous occasions before yesterday but I'm pretty sure we won't be returning, what a way to treat customers

Highly recommend the delicious Steak and Ale pie. Prompt service. Lovely staff. Just a shame you don't get to sit in the beautiful barn with the mill like it shows on the website, you only get to see it if you go to the 'inside toilets'.

We visited twice last year and had the best Sunday dinners ever from a pub.We visited a few weeks ago and we were seriously dissapointed with the food. Meat was dry, potatoes were frozen then oven cooked so were dusty inside. Veg was overdone and no cabbage. Its a real shame to see the food has changed so drastically. Went from proper cooked food to a spoons meal.Complained but service clearly didn't care.

Was recommended this lovely little pub. And it didn't disappoint. Only downside was the food came out a bit cold so sent it back to reheat. But once it arrived, oh my. The food was a definite 10/10. Meat was perfect and the gravy was out of this world. Only downside is there are three bright spot lights in the area where dogs are allowed and it's pretty bright if your sat opposite them,a bit too bright so it's not as cosy as it could be. I got a headache after a while. Aside that I'd definitely go back again. Definitely worth the trip

Basic food, mediocre service, lack of attention to detail. It was very disappointing. We were waiting for nearly 10 minutes to be seated when the place was empty. There were no local or speciality ciders (I’d expect a better selection given the name - I understand it is an old cider mill but it would make sense to at least pay some homage by having a good selection of ciders). The food tasted like something I’d get from my local supermarket shop. We had the scampi and the steak pie; steak was dry and lacked seasoning, and scampi tasted like it was shop bought. I think the empty picture frames should have been an early sign that there’s a lack of care and attention to providing a good quality pub experience.
