Summerleaze Pet Crematorium

We have previously used Summerleaze for a lot of our pet’s cremations and until my latest experience on 3rd July 2023 I have always been very happy with the service provided.Sadly, one of my cats had to be put to sleep on 1st July and I phoned on 3/7/23 to arrange her cremation.The initial conversation about appt times required me to attend earlier during the day but I was unable to do so because my wife works for the NHS and was unable to leave work until 4pm. The lady I spoke to on the phone conversed with another member of staff and she agreed to see us at 4.30 pm even though the opening hours are until 5pm.We arrived at 4.30pm as arranged and our experience to be frank was very very poor indeed. We were spoken to in the entrance way as just another client, no feelings, no evidence of sympathy, we weren’t offered a seat and I wanted my cat, my baby to be taken to your chapel where I could say goodbye properly. I asked for this, but I was told it wasn’t possible due to the time, but there was still another 25 mins before the published closing time.We had to say goodbye to our little girl who was wrapped in a blanket in a pet carrier in the corridor just inside the entrance door.I am sorry but this is absolutely disgraceful and if we had an alternative, I would have taken my baby away and required a full refund, but we had to go along with this abysmal service and put her to rest. This was cold and a couldn’t care less service and I now see you in a different light.When I visited the last time when we had to have one of our dogs cremated we had an excellent and caring service by a lovely caring friendly lady but not today it was cold with a take it or leave it attitude and quite frankly we are disgusted with today’s service The lady we dealt with before whose name I can’t remember but I think she lived out towards Penhow was absolutely delightful, warming and caring unlike your staff now.I have spoken to other people who have used your facility for years and no longer do because they have also had poor experiences.Good news travels fast but bad news travels even faster. Our advice is go back to how good you were because this time you failed miserably at a time when my wife and I had to say goodbye to a precious member of our family.We have had 8 cats and two dogs cremated with you, we still have 8 cats and never in a million years will we EVER use you again.Hang your heads in shame and get some staff who are caring and sensitive at sad times in peoples lives.

Our beloved Cat Fluffles came home in a beautiful casket after dying suddenly after a short illness. Our vet arranged everything as i was in shock, heartbroken at the roadside at 3am. Would of appreciated a phone call from this place is why 4 stars. It was literally arranged minutes after he passed. Also certificate says cremated 6th March"

Summerleaze were great after my cat unexpectedly passed away last week. Good communication and fast service, lovely little chapel where I could say a proper goodbye as well. Despite it being a very difficult time for me it was nice knowing that my boy was in safe hands. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing service, kind, compassionate and a wonderful place.I called them at 9am after my dog passed away overnight and they allowed me to take him straight there for 10:20 where I was given time in the chapel to say goodbye. They prepared me for everything over the phone and I collected his ashes the next day. What a wonderful job these amazing people do in the hardest circumstances, thank you so much.

What a truly wonderful place. The most special send off for my girl Millie. The chapel was a really nice touch and the service that we received was 5star. Doesn't ease the pain but knowing that she had the most dignified send off made the process a little easier. Thank you all so much.

After waking and finding our beloved King Charles cavalier had passed away our local vets gave me this crematorium number to ring and ask for help. From the moment the phone was answered I had nothing but empathy, compassion and professionalism from Lisa. Later that day we took Flynn there and was net by Carol who was also professional and compassionate. We were able to say goodbye privately and arrangements made to collect his ashes the following day. Thank you so much for making this awful time for us as a family a little more bearable

What wonderful staff work here. Sadly we had to plan a home euthanasia for our belovd cat Cleo (who had cancer) & the team at Summerleaze were so understanding, compasionate & responded so quickly to all my enquiries. Thank you for making a very difficult day for me & my girls an easier one & for giving our beloved Cleo the send off she deserved. Thank you.

Wonderful service after my cat Georgie died suddenly this week. Their driver picked up Georgie and was cremated on the same day. His ashes were put in a beautiful carved wooden cat, driven back and is now alongside Stevie who also was cremated by Summerleaze some years ago. A very kind and efficient service. I could not be happier. Thank you to everyone at Summerleaze.

This was my second experience at this place. The first was compassionate. The second yesterday, I was treated like dirt. I was grief stricken and the first question I was asked was if I had chosen the urn already and paid and why I hadn't made an appointment even though I had. I was told the urn was unavailable even though it was still on the website. A friend told me I was overcharged. The ice cold woman told me I had 10 minutes in the chapel. She was pacing outside while I said goodbye. I don't think you want this member of staff on your books.
