Kidderminster Hospital

Repeated cancelled appointment and impossible to get through by phone call to Worcestershire Hospitals Switchboard, Kidderminster Hospital and the specialist. I had a telephone consultation booked to discuss my knee MRIs, to decide on what surgery I'll need, last Wednesday but the clinic was cancelled on the same day. I was then promised my telephone consultation on either Friday last week or Tuesday this week at the latest and I am still yet to be called or informed when I will have my appointment. I have left two voicemails on different days to the specialist and called both Worcestershire Hospitals Switchboard and Kidderminster Hospital multiple times and have only been able to get through to Worcestershire Hospitals Switchboard once, all the other times the line rings then disconnects with no voicemail option. The worst contact and service I have had and heard of for a hospital. This has been adding undue stress to myself. The service really needs to revise what they are doing.

Calmer and more pleasant hospital than some but parking areas woefully too small. Parking charges are the same as all Worcestershire hospitals (high). In our case we attended the opthalmology clinic which was a 200% better experience than a previous visit to Birmingham Dudley Rd Eye Hospital.

Had a small operation today and have to praise the staff there. Everyone was caring and took time to explain what was going to happen, from arrival, admission, the procedure is self andRecovery/discharge. thanks to everyone involved in my care.

So today I had an appointment with my nurse specialist in rheumatology, unfortunately my anxiety got the better of me and was not in a great way. A student nurse noticed this and approached me asking if she could do anything get me a drink and even offered to find me a private side room so I could be alone. This was going above and beyond and I was truly touched by her kindness. I didn’t get to catch her name but I know she was on the. department of rheumatology. I want to thank her for her kindness and professionalism. I really hope this gets back to her. She wore a white tunic with navy blue parts. Very long eyelashes! And had her hair in a crocodile clip I hope she gets found and recognised. She was on duty 30.11.23 at about 11.30/12pm

Dermatology DepartmentThe staff are brilliant. Had a biopsy felt comfortable and relaxed. They explained what they were doing the whole time. All pleasant and friendly.

No one wants to go to hospital but sometimes it becomes nessersary.My experience at Kidderminster Hospital was fantastic.Staff are wonderful, caring, cannot fault them. What a team.

Went for a CT scan today. As far as hospitals go Kiddy is outstanding in every way. You walk in and you feel apprehensive but the staff make you feel so at ease it really relaxes you.

Had gallbladder surgery on Sunday every single member of staff was fantastic, my nurse was so lovley. They all made me comfortable and at ease as I was so nervous and stressed, a massive thankyou to you all for looking after me and getting me through it.

Broken wrist, arrived at 4pm on Friday. Every member of staff I encountered were so kind and professional. Xray even stayed open late to check the cast was on ok. I'm humbled by their dedication and care, you're stars !

My bladder got the better of me and I headed for the Gents (near Reception). What confronted me was a scene that would have been completely distastefull even for a down and out, back street pub. The toilet, especially the condition of the urinals was utterly disgusting.For this lack of cleanliness and maintenance to be found in a UK hospital is downright disgracefull. I reported the situation to a female receptionist. Only time will tell if anything is done about it.
