Bar Meze
We chose Bar Meze for lunch when we visited St Albans for old times' sake. Great food, friendly and welcoming service, and could only have been improved if we hadn't been driving and could have enjoyed a bottle of wine with our meal. Thoroughly recommended.

Had a fantastic meal here. The staff were welcoming, made excellent recommendations from the menu, and accommodated one of our guests with vision and mobility requirements.The meal was served fast, and the food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the swordfish skewers and Egyptian parcel. Both of these dishes were suggested to us.I have always enjoyed Bar Meze, but this visit particularly stood out as exceptional.

Food average. Moussaka obviously heated in microwave in a bowl, weird. .Service very quick, too quick, staff leaning over my plate to get to the one next to me, almost in my food! Never been in and out of a restaurant so quickly.Tables need replacing, reminds me of 1980's school desks.Could do with a refurbishment, stairs are awful. Toilets cold and very smelly.

Great restaurant lovely genuinely warm welcome from the owner. Quality ingredients clearly cooked with love and pride. I think this will definitely be a regular restaurant for my lunch meetings.Also really easy to order #healthyyum and I love the flavours from the charcoal grill, makes me remember what summer is like.

This is a great restaurant. The staff were super friendly (The chef even came over and spoke to us) and the price was reasonable. The swordfish steak was super delicious and tender and the mixed meze was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Hit and miss sadly. Having previously visited pre-Covid. Mothering Sunday lunch (reservation) and several dishes on menu unavailable (no doubt popular ones): Spanakopita, Baba ghanoush, banoffee pie unavailable.New staff taking orders and not returning, and then being over zealous clearing. Seemed lacklustre compared to other times. Disappointed by lack of vegetarian options even dolmades had meat and not recommended any by staff (given meat choices). The greeter was delightful and it was busy but thinned out. Nothing outwardly to be unhappy about, but just left feeling a bit neglected for service..Food was lovely what we tried except the dessert (creme brulee bit stodgy). Portions aren't large but pick several for mezze experience. They come relatively quickly if the staff take order well (we ended up asking more than once for food, drinks, & bill too). Vibe OK. Food good. Cost approx £25pp- with one shared mezze, 4 sides, 2 dessert, 2 alcoholical drinks, tap water and 1 soft drink.Will be back to see if it was one-off.

Friendly Cypriot restaurant on Adelaide Street in St Albans. We ordered multiple meze dishes like falafel, pitta, baba ganoush, grilled mushrooms, the grilled seafood platter with prawns and swordfish. All were freshly prepared and tasty. Service was good. The dessert chocolate bomb was really good.Worth a visit.

Visited here 2 nights ago and the food and service was amazing. We had the swordfish & chicken with rice and chips and everything was so pleasant. Would definitely come again, everyone was very friendly - thanks Bar Meze !

Bar Meze
We have been returning to this beautiful restaurant for over 10 years. Always a warm and friendly welcome. Excellent service, even when it's very busy you are made to feel special. We love the choice on the menu (I'm vegetarian, my husband is not) it's good value and the food is always amazing. We often recommend Bar Meze and it would be my first choice when meeting up with friends : x

Superb food!! Absolutely beautifully fresh, so tasty, and the service was impressive! I called for a last minute table reservation and was very happy to be able to visit. The owner of Bar Meze was attentive and couldn’t have been more helpful. We will definitely be revisiting, and will make plans to visit soon. Vicki & Rob
