Walk Wild Scotland
Best trip ever! The format of this adventure (7 days, 6 nights) unavoidably has you making friends out of strangers. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, exploring & hiking together will do that. It's a lot of hiking in a short period but the distraction of Scotland's beauty, our fearless leader's spirit, knowledge and people skills coupled with the pleasure of getting to know others who have similar tolerances to getting tired & sweaty to see what the wilds have to offer is the right combination for the right people.Caveat: we had pretty much perfect weather (if you consider mostly dry, windy & cool/cold perfect), while being prepared for the worst. I can't speak to my feelings had we experienced a significant amount of rain.In the end, I'm not sure if the strangers-turned-acquaintances/friends or the hiking that was better. For us, it was a killer combo.

This was my second trip with Antje and her son Janos and I like to do it again any time. The combination of sailing, hiking, chilling is perfect. I enjoyed very much to see dolphins, seals and most beautiful places in the inner hebrides. The sailing boat Provident provides highest standard in food and accomodation, and the crew makes everybody feel at home.Whatever you like, hiking or chilling, sailing or reading, sportive or comfortable - you will find it. Easy to make friends enjoying stunning views, with a coffee, tea or gin tonic in your hands ;-)Five stars to Antje and the Team, I feel very much priviledged to stay with you. Many thanks! See you :-)

I joined the ‘Hiking the Western Highlands and the Isle of Skye’ tour this past July. It was such a wonderful experience! There was good communication before the trip; all the necessary information was given and any further questions I had was quickly answered. All the planned hikes and extra side visits were well-planned, and if the weather was going to be too rainy, there were alternatives offered. Our host, Janos, was very friendly and knowledgeable, informing us in detail daily about the planned hike and always made sure our individual needs were met. And if there was time for a close-by short excursion, he made an extra effort to accommodate our wishes! Additionally, the two hotels we stayed at were comfortable, and offered a great range for breakfast and delicious meals to choose from for dinner, as well as provided hearty sandwiches for our lunches. I would totally recommend joining a hiking tour with Walk Wild Scotland and hope to take another trip with them in the future!

This walking tour in the West Highlands and the Isle of Skye was exceptional and exceeded by far my expectations. Antje both excellent driver of a red VW bus and guide with a good sense of humour and a great knowledge of the countryside and its history took us on fantastic walks into astounding landscapes. Our small group of just 7 participants got along very well, we enjoyed our lunches together at well sought out places in the open air, sometimes a beach or a rock overlooking a loch and would talk about the day's highlights in the evening during dinner. We stayed at two small and very comfortable hotels lovely situated one overlooking Loch Duich and the other looking out on the Atlantic.Highly recommendable!

To fulfill a dream of mine, and to get my head free of all the thoughts of a highly stressful job, I decided to start hiking. I exercised for some months, to get fit enough.- The one year pre contact with Walk Wild Scotland gave me the necessary additional information and the correct assessment of which hike would be suitable for me. As it turned out, the information was completely accurate.- The Scottish Highlands & the Isle of Skye, was the tour I chose for.- We traveled in a small, personal group. Sophisticated, modest, nice people made it enjoyable to walk with.- We were accompanied throughout by an well informed, friendly and experienced guide, indeed. She managed to lead us through completely different hiking tour-days. We had a lovely and romantic day, a wild and rough day, an impressive and magical day, which i never will forget.- The accommodations were well chosen comfortable and run by friendly owners. The meals were high quality and served charmingly. Good places to come home after a long walk.Memories of the breezy Scottish air, the endless views, the sometimes challenging walks, the cozy evenings together, memories i tried to catch in a lot of photos, make me realize now, how unique this tour was. I am sure this is not my last hike in Scotland.

Just home from the most amazing week in Scotland. Was very nervous heading off on my own but soon realised there was no need .Antje was very welcoming and the small group of women on my tour soon turned into good friends.Antje is very knowledgeable and it was interesting to learn about the local areas. With several little detours to places of interest and scenic picture opportunities there was never a dull momentBreakfast, lunch , dinners and drinks all delicious with plenty of options to suit everyoneI would recommend this trip 10/10

This was my first ever guided hiking vacation: my recent trip of the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye exceeded my expectations. Antje this season was a one-person show and she was great end-to-end. Communication leading up to the trip was clear, the itinerary and FAQs were concise to what to expect, and the kit list helped set me up for success before even arriving! The trip itself was spectacular: a perfect mix of hikes and other siteseeing activities provided a great flow to each day. Antje was highly observant to balance when a lighter day may be needed (we had a wide range of ages from early 40s to late 60s and a variety of fitness levels), and she also was effective in pivoting to other enjoyable hiking options if the conditions weren't great on a particular trail. Antje's knowledge of the region gave us unique experiences where we were so off the beaten path that many times we were the only ones hiking in the area. The accommodations were great and the food served at the hotel restaurants was fabulous. Some of my most memorable moments were the simple picnic lunches we had - because Antje picked the best lookouts for us to soak in the Scottish experience. And my fellow travellers made my trip so special. I think my photos demonstrate the beauty Antje introduced us to. I can't wait to book my next adventure with Antje!

Wat a wonderful week!A incredible host and hiking guide. Antje and her son Janosch, also a certified hiking expert, gave us lots of guidance, insights and entertained us during the hikes with wonderful stories that make the rich Scottish history come alive.

I joined the Sailing and Walking Holiday The Inner Hebridean Archipelago" and I loved every minute. The combination of sailing and walking means that you get to sail on a beautiful classic boat to magical hiking trails

I immensely enjoyed my Tour of the Western Highlands and Skye, although I was disappointed to find that my fitness level and age did not allow me to accomplish all of the hikes offered. My daughter reveled in each hike. While I was sorry to miss the more challenging hikes, I appreciated and trusted the guides’ assessment of safety issues. The itinerary included spectacularly remote areas and historical sites. Our guides, Sabine and Janos, exhibited a high level of expertise and sensitivity. Their love and respect for the land was clear with every step. The small group experience was very enjoyable both on the trail and as we gathered around the breakfast or dinner table. Our accommodations were very comfortable and scenic in themselves. Excellent food and wee drams! I am likely to look for another tour that suits my capabilities more closely, and am open to recommendations from Antje, Sabine or Janos.
