Blackwell Grange

Was a wedding guest here back in September and just wanted to mentioned how amazing everything was from a guest’s perspective. The food was delicious and as someone with complicated dietary requirements, Harriet and the kitchen team went out of their way to make sure I had the full experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming all day long so massive thank you to Carol, Harriet, and the entire team and events staff for making this day possible and letting us friends and family celebrate together like this.

We had our wedding here in September of 2023 and wow is all I can say.The staff are extremely professional, the venue is so well kept. Everything was spotless and they made our day perfect.We had Eugene helping us both with timings on the day and huge praises to him. He was so supportive and calmed us both down so well.The food was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.I cannot express how much we loved this venue from day one. This place is beautiful and worth every penny we spent. They helped make our day perfect and it was.Although the rules and regulations are quite strict for leaving times, but by 11:30pm (as you can imagine) we were both exhausted.Thank you to the whole team personally from us. You made our day so special! ❤️

I am not usually a reviewer but I feel that if couples are thinking of spending a lot of money there are some things that I feel need addressing by BG. You will probably see that a large proportion of reviews will praise how professional the staff are. This I am in agreement with fully and should not take away what a brilliant day we and our guests had, which was made possible due to the dedicated teams at BG. There are some wonderful little touches, like the mince pies, that kept our guests very happy during the day and night.I also want to praise a wonderful young lady behind the bar at our wedding who stood out so much for her positivity and good humour.However...1. You receive emails from a different person each time and one staff member (name beginning with the letter J) has an AWFUL email manner that definitely needs addressing!2. Once they receive your final payments they are a lot less accommodating.3. As the Bride and Groom we were unable to have our evening food saved for no longer than 2 hours due to health and safety reasons. I am sure we've all eaten a chicken kebab with a lot worse hygiene ratings after an evening out!4. We were unable to receive refunds for guests not attending which is understandable however we were not able to transfer this unused money onto something else.5. Initially I was allowed to store my decorations the night before, then I wasn't and then I was again.6. The accommodation was very impressive in comparison to other wedding venues but the breakfast options were a bit deflating after a night in such beautifully crafted rooms.7. Two words: damage deposit.These are the little things that I feel some couples may not complain about however it is because of these things, that I would not recommend the venue to a friend, colleague or anyone.Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read this long review. Very well decorated with outstanding grounds.The building flows brilliantly, and you're never far from your guests or amenities.The staff really do go the extra mile and look after the day as if it was their own.Great work everyone!

We got married at Blackwell Grange in October 2023, and we, together with all our guests, were extremely impressed with the venue and level of service. Leading up to our wedding, the events team responded quickly to any queries we had, and Paige was happy to arrange a video call to discuss options in more detail, including talking to the chefs about us having a bespoke option for our starter.The staff on hand throughout the day were incredibly accommodating, and happy to help us, whilst also running an incredibly slick operation. Suzy, our events manager on the day, was excellent, more than happy to help with anything that arose, including sorting a missing table number. She liaised with our suppliers, both professional and friends, so all knew what they were doing.The food and service were first-rate – the front of house and kitchen staff are to be commended for their efforts and eye for detail. The surroundings are beautiful – we especially appreciated the snug, giving guests space to sit and enjoy each other’s company.The accommodation was clean, styled to a high standard, and all those staying were very impressed.It is not on the cheap side – but you do really get what you paid for from Blackwell Grange – we’d definitely recommend.

We got married here at the end of October and had the best day! The venue is beautiful and the staff are so helpful and made everything so easy. They were on hand at every step of the process, from booking right through to picking up our decorations the day after the wedding. They were always happy to answer questions (and I had a lot) and do whatever they can to make your special day go smoothly. They even let me arrive in a tractor!We cannot recommend this venue highly enough, very professional and very helpful. Plus the food is amazing!Thank you to all the Blackwell Grange staff!

I don’t even know where to begin. There are no words to describe how incredible our day was. From start to finish each and every staff member at Blackwell Grange could not do enough for us.The venue itself absolutely stunning, the food was incredible (nothing was too much trouble), and the staff / service we were given was above and beyond; the whole day ran so smoothly. Both us and our guests were treated like royalty. Weddings are never a cheap day, however, I do know our day at Blackwell Grange was worth every single penny.I truly couldn’t recommend a venue more.The accommodation is also incredible, thank you to Didi for putting on a lovely breakfast and making us feel so welcome.Thank you to everyone, especially Paige, for making our day perfect.Love Elissa and Ben x

We got married here in June, we had the best day! Not only on the day were the staff so attentive and helpful but all the way through the planning process. The food was incredible and the setting and views are beautiful, as well as the barns and beautifully styled accommodation. We can absolutely recommend this as a wedding venue, we want to relive the day all over again!

Got married there. In short, everything was perfect.The staff was lovely, the events team bent backwards to sort out anything we asked, and the food was incredible even though we picked the cheapest package, the guests couldn't stop raving about it.We had plenty of couples events prior to the wedding to show the venue to friends and family, and I recommend going to the tasting event as it is a great way to try the food and see how the service is done during a typical wedding breakfast.The team only reached out when they needed something from us but were very quick to reply to any questions or concerns we had.My only gripe would be that one of the events team managers walked around all day telling people off about the many rules, which is fine in itself, rules are here for a reason, but doing with a smile wouldn't hurt. But all in all, that didn't take away from the amazing day.If you can afford it, book the accommodation, the rooms and the breakfast are amazing and well worth the money.
