Came for the BDWCA annual show. The large open space is perfect for events like this, and draws in locals and visitors to the area alike.

Last Saturday in the month is farmer's market which typically has 50 stalls selling meat, fish, vegetables, cakes, cheese, bread ,mushrooms, honey, beer ,soap, leather items, turned wood and lots more. Check the website around Christmas and New Year as the dates might change. Open 9am till 2pm . Cafe on site with parking.

Just come back from visiting the Farmers market at Bakewell. It is at the agricultural business centre every last Saturday of the month .There are only about half of the traders there now after the restrictions but still worth visiting.I take my mountain bike with me and go for a ride on the high peak trail afterwards and make a day of it .

As a long term local shopper there has been an obvious marked decline in the quality of this market in recent years, which only accelerated during lockdown. We want local food, grown and prepared by local producers. Every new stall appears to be selling craft items, replacing a food producer. This may appeal to the casual tourist, but is no basis to build a regular customer base and long term success. There are still enough wonderful stalls to make this market worth a visit. Although sadly it's no longer the monthly, must visit that it had been for many yearsAn appeal to whoever is in charge; please get back to basics and focus on food.

Covid seems to have taken a toll of the traders who used to be there . Far fewer stalls and not the range of products. Many old favourites are missing .

To say it was the monthly farmer's market there wasn't any stalls selling meat, unless it was in a pie or similar. Not a patch on what it was pre-Covid.
