The Gardens Hotel
Location is the main advantage of this establishment. It is located in the very centre of Manchester. I like the location and the affordability. Both were great. The room was reasonably big, quiet as it has room into inner space over the roof of the lobby and clean. The staff was friendly.I don't fancy AC but the room was extremely hot. Like a furnace. The moment I stepped out of the shower I was dripping sweat again. The glass roof over the lobby to which we had window turned out to be extremely noisy when raining. It was like a drum. Very big drum.

Within walking distance of most of what you want to see in Manchester. Showing its age a bit, but the rooms are clean and tidy, the staff are all friendly, professional and attentive. The breakfast is a bit on the sparse size, but cooked well and quickly delivered.

Great little hotel. Fab location and staff super lovely.Wear and tear shows, but for the price you pay. Its better than what you'd expect.

The location of the hotel is superb. About a 5 minute walk from Piccadilly train station, and about a 2 minute walk into the city centre. However, the room information has not been updated since COVID, and some of the facilities were lacking. I had paid for an executive double room, but was left a bit disappointed. The shower room was clean and spacious, but the bedroom itself looked a bit dated. The carpet was damaged near the radiator and looked in need of a good clean in other places. The wardrobe would have been spacious if it wasn't used to house the ironing board, the iron, a fan, a couple of blankets, kettle and various drink options. Other items of furniture were in need of an upgrade.

Worst experience staying in this hotel. When we first arrived the staff were fairly friendly, however as soon as we got into the lift there was a strong smell of cannabis and sweat. The room was big enough and the bed was comfortable, the noise from the radiator was horrendous, the toilet seat was broken, the TV didn’t work and the noise from outside made it extremely difficult to sleep.Getting in from our night out we had to ring for the staff to let us in which is understandable for safety reasons, however the rude staff member asked our name and room number and then proceeded to ask about the ‘people behind us’ in an accusing manner when they were also hotel guests. The second day we were leaving the hotel and on our way out witnessed a cleaner spit on the carpet then act oblivious when he realised we were coming down the stairs. The last morning we got told we could have breakfast for £10 each which is ridiculous for the portion sizes. We approached the man who asked for our name and room, he looked and said ‘you’re not included in the breakfast’. We then explained the woman at reception said we could have it for an extra fee and he shouted over to the reception our room number which should be confidential to add it on. My boyfriend placed a used cup down to one side as there was nowhere to put it and no staff member present to ask, the same man come over and abruptly asked him if it was his and if he wanted it back. He explained he didn’t know where to put it and the man was gritting his teeth, giving him dirty looks and walked away.Would not recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel! The room: nice and spacious room, the bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my stay! The shower was beyond perfect, the pressure and temperature control was beyond expectations! The atmosphere: corredors were spotless and smelt fresh as you'd expect for a mini vacation. The hotel lobby is beautiful, staff are welcoming, the receptionist on arrival allowed us to check-in early which was perfect for our needs! She moved us to a ready to go room [116].Breakfast: perfect dining experience, most hotels are self serve but we had our food brought to us; we had a English breakfast and may I say it was delicious! Location: perfectly central to the city centre, ease of access to transport. Overall experience: satisfied with our stay, couldn't fault anything. Will we come again?, a million times yes!

The location is great - some aspects of the hotel not so much.My room was certainly large and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to completely close the window. And as the hotel is in the centre of the city that meant I had to endure some street noise. You need to use a short flight of stairs to enter the hotel if you are fully able, young and fit you will have no problems getting your luggage in. If not, then you might have problems.

Room was ok but sweaty feet smell in it. Bed pretty good. Room was fearly clean.what I find remarkable is that you pay £5 to store your luggage after check-out. I've really never experienced that before. I would come back here because of the location and price.

Lovely mirrors, great natural light, moderately clean, spacious bathroom, extra blanket & extra pillows provided, brilliant location, lovely and welcoming staff. The room was absolutely freezing in the middle of autumn - no heating whatsoever (windows were also left open upon arrival), bedside table lamp broken (lampshade crooked), room design (decor outdated, ie. curtains, carpets, uneven flooring, late check-in/early checkout with additional pay, TV had no sound!! And bad placement, broken shower gel, thin walls - could hear everything outside the room, reception roof leaking with puddles of water on floor due to heavy weather conditions. Online images of hotel rooms can be misleading in its appearance.

Cheap central hotel near rail station. Basic facilities and deco. The room was warm and bed was reasonably comfortable. The water pressure was high and water hot. The service was prompt even at 9.30pm. Staff were cleaning the hotel at 5.45am so good sign. Only negative was that it was noisy with other guests ... sound installation is relatively poor.
