Booked a table didnt just turn up as i read reviews first. Food came out looking lovely! but unfortunately mine (red bass) was totally tastless i realised after no pesto as mentioned on menu so basically cream poured over about 3 squashed new potatoes and a small bit of bass. Cheesecake was also suppose to be strawberry baileys and prosecco but no hint of either. So not really impressed at £94 for 2 adults and 1 child. (no we didnt have 3 courses and only 1 alcoholic drink). Staff friendly enough and lovely location so definitely gutted as been looking for a regular place for a nice meal.

My husband and I had a delicious meal here. Venison carpaccio followed by fish and chips and lamb rump. All perfectly executed and delicious for a reasonable price. Recommended

Although everything was quite good I was disappointed with my burger.First the good part. Had crevettes and they seemed fresh and were very tasty. Best Marie Rose sauce I've ever tried. My partner's risotto was very good.On to my burger. It was very simple for the type of restaurant. Onion rings looked like supermarket frozen onion rings. Same with the bun. The way it was all put together was poor. Also, I believe that the restaurant shouldn't be offering any sauces in sachets. It does not match with the ambience of the restaurant. It's a very nice restaurant and I'd highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Went in looking for a table for two last night at 8pm, not dinner time. Was informed they were fully booked, which was a complete lie as the place was basically empty, only a few tables had people at it. The whole establishment came across like they don't like out of towners. Luckily we went to the Masonic Arms further down the road which was very welcoming and had great food.

Food wasn't what I'd expected. Salmon was quite hard like it had been left out. Maybe less salmon and more prawns would be a good idea. Steak pie for main (moved this from centre of veg to the side for picture). Wasn't impressed with that either. Pie was over seasoned as well as the gravy. The mash was just strange and the veg was just a little on the hard side. Friends had the haddock and chips and said it was brilliant and husband had lamb and said it was lovely. Expected better for the price. Presentation was lovely on all dishes. Warm welcoming atmosphere and nice surroundings to have a meal.

Caesar salad drenched and lacking the balance/touch to make this classic work. Other salads and food ordered suffered same fate.all the ingredients seemed good quality just not put together well. Pricing was reasonable.service was good.staff very nice.

We caught them just at end of lunch service and before dinner. Place was empty (hence only 3*) but so glad we decided to order. Fish & chips was huge and tasty. Cajun chicken ciabatta was so flavoursome, also huge so didn't really need the side of fries.
