Lovely fish and chips. But tension between cook and serving staff coloured the experience some what. Also disappointed that at 8.10 ours was the last order. The lady behind us was turned away at 8.15 despite closing time on the door and on Google being 8.30. Not hard to make the appropriate changes.

Excellent fish and chips , lovely clean restaurant and very friendly staff ,we are on vacation from Canada ,and every time we visit Cornwall we make sure we have a meal at Sole plaice

I recently decided to give Sole Plaice a try after passing by a few times. It's got a good reputation, so my expectations were fairly high. The chips, however, were somewhat disappointing. They were quite generous with the portion, but the chips themselves were unexpectedly thin and on the greasy side. It's unusual for a traditional fish and chip shop.The service was extremely slow considering I was the only person waiting too.I'm glad I gave it a shot, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. It's unlikely I'll visit again, but it was an interesting experience nonetheless.

Waited at the counter, three members of staff were there not ONE of them acknowledged we were there, not even a “afternoon “, “ won’t be a minute” or even a look and a smile. We were completely ignored. We walked out in absolute disgust!! So rice and ignorant. Not good for business.

Normally go here once a month with daughter and grandson, today me and wife called and I ordered and when it arrived looked great. But fishcake was not home-made so I asked. to change it with a piece of fish, it was cold fish chips ook peas fine. My wife had fish and chips great and she enjoyed it,,but because I said fish was cold the boss said very nasty if you feel like that just leave.very nasty, trying to get over no stomach because of cancer, she said so you started eat the fish but it cold I said so she very nasty said look just leave. Never been so insulted and be little in front of my wife and other people, customers, my angina started thought I was going to have a heart attack. So my advice is eat but don't complain now at home feeling very upset
