Highgate House Hotel

Finally enjoyed my afternoon tea gift, having had it cancelled during lock down. The staff were polite, attentive and helpful. The food was delicious, with a lovely selection and as many cups of tea and coffee as we wanted. We were encouraged to bring our leftovers home and given boxes to transport them. Will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

We had a lovely stay here on a Friday in June. The staff couldn't do enough to help you, and were friendly and polite to boot. Our room was clean, comfortable and full of character with a beautiful view. We had a three course meal included in the stay because it was a Red Letter Days gift, so we went down to the dining room when we wanted to ( they didn't require us to book a table for a specific time) and the food was simple but very well cooked and delicious - huge portions! The grounds at night as well as during the day are lovely to walk round, obviously very well looked after with well-tended gardens. The pool, which isn't attached to the main hotel, was small but beautifully warm...I had the whole place to myself when I went for a swim which was just bliss, however I don't think it would be particularly comfortable for more than two or three people. Actually we were astounded at how quiet the whole place was,I think we were two of only a handful of guests because only one or two tables were ever occupied while we were in the dining room. Such a shame because there is so much this place has to offer. The breakfast in the morning was full cooked breakfast buffet, toast, pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurt. All very nicely presented and absolutely delicious. We walked off our breakfast by popping down to visit the on-site honey bees and horses. Lovely stay, highly recommended.

A great hotel. The rooms were nice with en suite bathroom.The food was delicious and there was a range of prices options. The local water quality is good. Free tea and coffee were available all day. There is a big garden and small swimming pool. The conference roomswere very good.

Beautiful hotel and well kept grounds.We were greeted by two bubbly receptionists who were very pleasant. We stayed in a lovely clean room with a large en suite. However, prior to our stay, we had booked over the phone to have our room upgraded to a superior room, but when we arrived we were told this couldn't be done as there was no confirmation of the upgrade? Was quite disappointed with this. And what confused me even more was the fact they had tried to charge us for the upgraded room once we were leaving, so this upgrade must have been sorted on their system? For dinner we sat down and ordered the sirloin steaks, I found it quite tough to cut and rather chewy, definitely not worth the hefty price tag. The restaurant service wasn't amazing either. The included breakfast on the other hand was very nice. Overall, we enjoyed a nice stay away.

I attended a two day event with an overnight stay including meals. The meeting facilities were excellent with large, well equipped rooms available. Tea and coffee facilities were pencil with cake and fresh fruit available. Staff were excellent and accommodating for our needs and were able to provide a working lunch buffet on both days. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced and the bar area was well laid out with plenty of space while remaining cosy. The library" where we had a private dinner was an incredible room. The service and food was outstanding; the best I've had at a professional event. The surrounding area is beautiful countryside and a short walk around the outside of the House is rewarding. The rooms were complete with plenty of space and the bed comfortable."

The staff are really lovely and attentive here. It is very laid back and a relaxing place to stay. The restaurant is lovely and the food is well prepared. The bathroom on our room was huge, it was lovely to have a bath and a shower cubicle both of decent size. The swimming pool was lovely and warm too.

From arrival to departure the service was exceptional. The friendly and attentive staff would be a reason to return. Shame about the temperature of the room, unbearably hot at times. Beautiful gardens at the front of the house, would be a nice touch to add a bit of music in the summer time for atmosphere. Fantastic value for the Groupon deal with a nights stay, 3 course meal and breakfast included.

Private lunch in the library. The variety of menu choice suited all my guests, the food was plentiful and flavoursome. We stayed the night in the main house, the room was well appointed, quality bedding and very comfortable. Enjoyed a full english breakfast before checking out

We arrived and got instantly upgraded to a larger room with a bath to cater for our little baby. The staff were incredibly attentive and so kind. The food was amazing we had a great choice for dinner. Breakfast was equally just as good. We will be sure to return!

Went for a wedding here they have great staff the chef the next day went the extra mile in assisting me sorting out my wife's breakfast whilst I was nursing a hangover from hell. It's a nice old building if you like nice architecture. But the main thing I liked about it was the pride the staff took in making your stay pleasurable.
