After spending a lovely day in York I wanted to buy some food and drinks for the train. Staff were rude and arrogant about the after 6pm a dry station rules. Thanks for being such a know it all. Not all of us are from York so would appreciate less of the attitude.

Great little store for me as I commute by train and can pop in and get almost anything on my way home and at a reasonable price. Can't believe they have a bakery section as well! So spoiled!

Disgusted to EAT HAIR!!!I popped into store this morning and bought a chocolate hazelnut croissant to go with my morning coffee to enjoy on my train to work, to get a few bites in and realise i am EATING HAIR!!!Had to pull it out of my teeth!The hair is literally incrusted into the pastry and choc topping!do you not provide hair nets for your bakery staff!!?I obviously cannot return as i'm stuck on a train heading down south.Get your act together and train your staff about health and food safety, bloody disgusting!!!I will not be back, will happily go to the other coffee shops for my morning pastry to avoid the human hair.

I was traveling back to the Netherlands, and I wanted to make sure I didn't carry the virus. However, it was Sunday, so Pharmacies were closed. Luckily though, I had the thought to try my luck at this Sainsbury. Tests aren't usually sold in supermarkets in the UK, but the staff - a very friendly lady - asked the manager, and provided us with their own personal tests!! This saved us a lot of time and stress, and it has been a unique experience in terms of how nice and friendly supermarkets can be. I haven't tried their products, but they looked pretty good too. 5/5, this supermarket will always have a special place in my heart❤️ greetings from Holland :)

Walked into Sainsbury’s to buy some things, when got to the counter the woman handed the wrong item to me and when I asked her to change it to the right one she went off on one saying she’d asked me which one it was. Was very rude and customer service was terrible. Left without the item and will definitely not be returning there again.

I walked in and out. Baffling, in a station shop, why wouldn't you make it easy quick and cheap to buy snacks and refreshments? Wine was largely marked up, security tagged and cork topped, so a slow and useless purchase vs buying on the train.

After 6pm you can't buy beer on a Saturday. Staff member was unnecessarily rude about it to me and my partner when there's just no need. Irony is you can buy beer in all the pubs in the station and a load of footy lads were drinking cans on the station as well. Seems a really good initiative....not
