Hillcrest Hotel

Stayed at The Hillcrest Hotel last Saturday night 9th September 2023 for a 60th birthday party and after reading previous reviews was a little apprehensive as to what to expect.......... but it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. - REFURBISHMENT IS OUTSTANDING. Extremely welcoming reception area and also the staff too. Room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Cannot find fault at all with THE HILLCREST HOTEL and HIGHLY RECOMMEND and star rating should definitely be increased *****Ops! Forgot mention food - again absolutely faultless !!Certainly will be back to stay when in the area. Thank you to everyone concerned.

It's such a lovely place to stay warm welcome and the staff are very nice, polite and friendly nothing is too much for you, the food is plenty full and well presented, the domestic staff work very hard to keep all areas of the hotel to a high standard. The grounds are well maintained, and the rooms are equipped with all that you need, I could live here very happily and comfortable.Thanks to Hillcrest HotelTeam.Peter

AVOID! Arrived to find the place full of homeless people, addicts and gangs and gangs of teenagers hanging around the car park, outdoor seating areas and in the hotel reception. Couldn’t get in through the front door with my bags because there was just a constant stream of teenage lads all shouting and pushing and shoving each other. Saw one man smoking out of his down stairs bedroom window at the front and a woman sat on a low wall being sick by the main entrance.Arrived 30minutes early for check in after speaking to the hotel the day before arrival and the morning of to ask for an early check in as we were going to an immediate family members funeral and needed to quickly shower, change and sort our baby out after a long journey and the room was not ready. No apology or help offered by the Receptionist just a “it’s not ready”. Rude, unhelpful and literally left us with no were to go. Cancelled my room and booked into another hotel but missed the funeral. Thanks for making a hard day even harder Hillcrest!

Nice place downstairs but bedrooms out dated needs tidying up,wasn,t worth the money we paid as the breakfast wasn,t included,shall not be returning

It’s like living in the big brother house cameras recording you and your voice.Attitude on one worker especially is disgusting.And the manager wow the way he speaks to you is horrifying.My mum suffers with psychotic episodes and cameras are a big thing and a horrible experience for her. And they honestly don’t care all the they care about is the money the council are paying them for us.A family had been thrown out today for defending my mum and they have 2 young babies .Sooner we are gone the better.

Very nice lunch here. Jkt potato with salad was delish and all for a fiver. Deffo go again. X

A really lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a function and the service and food were exceptional. The bar area is modern and plesent. The room we had was amazing. Just let down by the tired and old ensuite bathroom. Otherwise a lovely hotel.

I have been there for 2 months and 1 week with my baby boy I loved every minute being there lovely staff room lovely everything was brilliant going to miss being there and thank you for all the help I needed with anything best hotel been to will recommend people to go there thank you again

Update* We came back here again today for father's Day and again this place was excellent.My experience at the Hillcrest restaurant on Mother's Day was truly exceptional! The service was outstanding and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was not only delicious, but beautifully presented as well. The drinks were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented our meal. The venue itself was gorgeous and created a lovely ambiance for the occasion. To top it all off, the entertainment was fantastic and really added to the overall experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - it truly exceeded all of my expectations!
