Bonaly Country Park

Outstanding views and great walking/hiking trails. Also suitable for taking the dogs for a walk.Note: livestock are in certain areas so keep an eye out for the signage stating farmland animals grazing. Worth keeping your dog on lead at times.

my Rustyn companion was willing to scale any fence he could find in the sheep farms, pretty hectic and almost missed the main road. On the way descending, the twin reservoirs were beautiful, no wonder people camped on the slopes overlooking the reservoirs.

A very pleasant and pretty much easy walk if you stay on main paths. If more adventous you can literally take to the hills. The views of Edinburgh, the forth and beyond are amazing. Areas include open countryside, woodland and walks along a couple of reservoirs.Fishing by permit is also available. Walkers, cyclists and dog walkers of all age groups were out and about when we were there. The is a cafe but open summer only. Car parking is free but donations are welcome to help maintain this beautiful countryside. There is even alpacas if you fancy seeing them up close, or even take them for a walk. All of this within easy reach of Edinburgh and surrounding areas. There is a bus stop opposite bonaly store if you want to travel by bus from city centre. LRT number 10. Amazing relaxing walk trough the nature few miles far from Edinburgh. Easy to reach by car. Car park available with lot of spaces. Fantastic landscapes. The place is clean and very well maintained. Three wonderful reservoirs surrendered by wild woods. Ideal for a walk with children and dogs. No more than 1 hour to visit the whole park. Very nice experience. I recommend a visit here to enjoy the peace of the nature.

First time visit ,Well laid out map of walks in the area with a good car park , I set off for Bonally Reservoir . A steady gradient it took me 50 mins but I am getting on in years easily done in 30 mins if fit . The reservoir is a high point for viewing Edinburgh and Fife and the Forth Bridges well worth the effort for the view alone There are one or two wild campers at the reservoir and it is well known for free fishing with perch pike and trout.

A lovely place to walk. My dogs loved it. Recommend donation for parking is 2£. Toilets and bins present

Bonaly Country Park is a great option for a nice walk close to Edinburgh. It is also a great spot when it is snowy. It's an easy walk and very enjoyable. You can enjoy a bit of forest, hills with great views, the reservoir is also a great spot to enjoy the sunset. Be also aware that it can be crowed at times.

A great place to go for a run.Looks like a nice place to camp if possible - there are campsites.

Did the circular Torduff Reservoir walk, which takes around 45 minutes. We did it with our 10 month old in his all terrain pram, their were parts that were tricky but with the prams big mountain bike wheels we were ok - if you don’t have this type of pram and aren’t strong enough to lift the pram in areas then don’t attempt. If you can though it’s beautiful, with amazing views over Edinburgh. Very peaceful well kept walk. The parking is free although a very small car park so I’d imagine on weekends it could be full very easily.

Love this park. Lots of great walking trails and things to see. Views of city are spectacular at certain points. Love the remote coffee shop during the walk its perfect and not overly priced like others. Would highly recommend.
