The Groom Room Fareham

I took my gorgeous Japanese spitz in today for a groom, I get really worried about leaving my dog as it is because she is my baby.As I was walking in there to drop my dog off there was another dog getting done,- the dog was on one of the stands looking quite nervous and the staff member was on her phone next to them, not paying attention to the dog or anything! This didn’t help me at all and made me feel even worse about leaving her there.(I should have gone with my gut and not bothered)But I always give people a chance.I told them I wanted her to have all the package except I didn’t want her hair being cut.So I only wanted her to have a bath, blow dry, eyes and ears cleaned and nails clipped. I also wanted to add on 3 things from the pick n mix they do for an extra £5.The staff member then took my dog without even asking me what extras I wanted.So I said to them “shouldn’t I tell you what other extras I want my dog to have?” They replied “no it’s ok we just give them a little pamper” I was a little confused with this but I still went ahead.I came and collected her and she was very excited to see me- she was still quite wet behind her ears and the top bit of her coat, (which they did tell me) I then asked was she ok, did she enjoy it? Any problems? They replied “she was great, was really good and loved it.”I took her home and took her collar off to then find loads of matted fur all around the back of her neck!! Clumps everywhere, where the collar had been (she never usually wears a collar I only put one on her because she was going for a groom) I was shocked as my dog didn’t go in with any mats on her at all as I brush them on a daily basis.Her nails hadn’t been clipped either.I was really upset so rang them up about 5 times and got no answer. My husband then had to ring up the manager at pets at home and put in a complain about the groom room.The manager said she would talk to the girls and get back to us.The manager rang back up and said They said I didn’t say I wanted her nails clipped which wasn’t true, they also said that my dog didn’t like getting blow dried near her ears, which annoyed me because when I asked if my dog was ok when I picked her up they said everything was fine!They never told me she was uncomfortable with getting it done!Had I known this I could have come and sat with her and calmed her when having her ears done - unfortunately communication isn’t a strong point in this groom room which is evident on the above.So they told me to bring her back in at 6pm so they can have a look, which I did.I went in and I took the collar off and showed them the matted fur and told them that my girl never went in with any mats!They replied “well she must off because these take a while to form”And here I thought the customer was always right?I said she never did, I know this because I brush her and stroke her enough to know whether she would have mats or not.It’s honestly worrying because even if she did go in with mats (which I 100% know she didn’t!!) they have then spotted them and just left them on my dog!! Which is absolutely disgusting!!Here I thought this was a professional service...It’s so upsetting that I put my trust in people to look after my girl and she comes out with completely matted fur like that!We had taken her in because we have a family photo shoot the next day, so I’m absolutely gutted as this is our first one as a family and my poor girl will now have bald patches on her for the photos.I will never be taking her back here.And I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone!You’ve ruined my girls fur which she will now have to wait for it to grow back! Never again.

Really rubbish groom, took two trips for my boy to be 'finished' he's half bearded collie so had a decent coat on him and explained I wanted to keep most of the length and just a little off, came out and he's lab length but still with all fur on his head and tail.. Looked like the luck dragon. Phoned and complained, manager couldn't be arsed speaking to me and just put all blame on my dog.. so they had him again 4 days later and he looks hacked at, all different lengths all over, no nail trim.. My boy came out anxious and he's not an anxious boy, It was a voucher groom so thought I'd try that first and see how it was and hopefully have a groomer for life but nooooo way will i ever have them touch him again.

Great job to get our Dillon back with a nice short back and sides, its given him new lease of life.

I had an appointment this morning battling through traffic turning up at the wrong pets at home only to be told it’s at the B&Q one. So arrived 10 minutes late For my 9am. Lost my £15 deposit said they could see me at 3:30. This was my first time my puppy has been to groomers. Threw up twice in the car so journeys was not pleasant for the little guy. They chopped his nails for an additional £10. He yelped constantly but they were treating him very well I think he was scared. Just very frustrating as over 14 miles for nothing left sour taste in my mouth. Not great customer service.

I wish I could do ‘0’ stars!! They sheared all of my cockapoos fur off, including her tale! And it wasn’t ‘even’ either. It was shocking. They said she had knots.. which she didn’t as we were having her groomed every 5-6 weeks! We have since found a groomer that does an excellent job and cheaper AND better customer service.

Had a horrible experience with This lot. I have a little pup who was booked in for a quick groom probably took them 15 minutes but they told me it would take 30 mins and when I was running late by about 10 mins they told me I couldn't come in and would loose out, I understand that in the done print it explains about the times but they already changed my time from 8am to 9am, weren't Willing to take traffic into consideration, at first weren't willing to agree on anything untill I demanded my money back and to speak with their manager then suddenly I get a next available appointment. After my partner came back from them it looked like they had just combed the dog and trimmed his nails which grew back to the same length a week later.

Once again Steph and Jo did a brilliant job grooming my very nervous rescued Springer. I'm so glad I found them and am happy to leave him knowing he trusts them and feels safe. The fact that he also looks gorgeous is almost a bonus!

While waiting in the vets I noticed staff busy texting while the dog was just waiting and it was a regular occurrence. No interaction with the dogs .

Sadly another bad review. I went to pets at home to purchase puppy food and decided to pop into the groomers with my puppy. Walked in, and was given a warm welcome. Said I've never been and was looking for my puppies coat to be sorted as he's very fluffy. I was told there is a £20 grooming package for puppies currently and bought into it. Then and there I placed my deposit and booked in for that week.Upon turning up for our appointment we got chatting again and then was told they are not touching his coat as they aren't allowed to cut pups coats but he will have a bath blow dry nailcut, trim around eyes etc. I was disappointed as the only reason I booked in was for him to have a trim of his coat (I do his nails and eye area). Back and forth we went saying I wasn't told that. She insisted she told me as she explains with everyone. I don't have dementia, I told her I know she was the one who booked it as I remembered her and our conversation. I went to the vets next door to confirm his age and told her he's 6months so can he get his coat sorted and she said she didn't have the time to do that, so I asked if I can rebook him for that specifically. She said I'd loose my deposit, no compromise at all. Not like if they had my puppy alone, there were 3 other dogs in at the same time (I actually felt really sorry for my dog as they left him by himself on a tight lead tied to the table with other dogs barking and you could see he was stressed.) I definitely won't be going back. I was hoping my vets and groomers would be in the same shop but after my experience today I don't think I'd consider going back which is a shame.Oh forgot to mention after all of that when I collected him they said just to let you know he wouldn't allow us to clip his nails, cut his face etc.. so all he really got was a bath blow dry and brush , REALLY !? I could have saved myself £20 as I do that myself.I couldn't believed it but at that point I just wanted to pay and get out.

I've been taking my dog here regularly for 2 years and he's always come out happy and well groomed
