Pricey although the quality is far beyond Greg's for example. Freshly prepared treats and bakery items to die for. I feel lucky to have one within a 5-minute walk. If you fancy a treat pop down. Try the cornish pastie.

This bakery has a very serious hygiene problems. Twice I have witnessed dirty, unhygienic activity.First, a lady serving me wore protected gloves when handling bread but then blew a kiss to a child with gloves on allowing SALIVA on the gloves - and bread.This week another female worker was also disgusting. She tied up the counters but then without washing hands or using protective gloves picked up bread with her fat, grubby hands and put it in the slicer. I left without taking or buying that CONTAMINATED BREAD.This place has clear hygiene issues. It must be closed down.On top of that it's filled sandwiches, baps and cakes are OVER-PRICED.The doughnuts are dry, expensive and lack enough jam.Avoid this rip-off, dirty bakers' shop.

Alongside the fresh bread and cakes offered for sale they have excellent quality and a wide range of options available for sandwiches, rolls and toasties that are made to order. They also have filled croissants, sausage rolls and pizza slices that can be eaten on the premises or take-away.

Nice food options and generous portions. Pricing isn't always consistent, and I had to query my bill so as not to be over-charged. Would also be good to see some GF options on their menu.

I used this place so many times when I lived in Hatfield 1965-1992,the baps were always soft,the cakes great. Either Simmons but definitely one of their apprentices worked on Fergie and Andie's wedding cake

Please never order food with them! I ordered cappuccino and 4 lunch baps. They only delivered cappucino! After I called them, they said they can not redeliver and I can come and pickup food. I am disable and I can not pickup food. No refund provided and very rude customer service.

While the food is nearly always fresh it's over priced and over salted. Most of the staff are happy and friendly but have had a couple of incidents of down right rudeness and sulkiness before.

Totally wrong place for some of the workers. She been confused and unprofessional. Through the coffee on my table with out tell me where is the sugar and spoon to mix the coffee , small portion for 7.99£ English breakfast .2 sausages. 1 fried egg, 2 bacon beans and mushroom+ 1 large latte . And 1 large doorstep toast . If you’re hungry needs 2 portions. They’re portion it’s half size like anywhere else.

It's an okay place the latte is better than greggs or mcdonald's however I feel like every other Simmons I go there's a moody adolescent / passive aggressive Karen at the til, the pastries also need to have a lid on them as they get quite stale if you get one in the afternoon

All the breads are so fresh, yumm and satisfying. I am glad that they recently introduced the plant based milk options (oat milk). Can't wait to have another breakfast/brunch here. Finally, I just miss those chocolate truffles they used to make.
