Derventio Housing Trust

Was with Derventio for just over a week. They evicted me for withholding information that I wasn’t even aware of as I was very ill at the time. Me, my mum and my sister all explained this too them, but it didn’t make a difference and I had to leave. Detventio made me vulnerable and homeless at the same time.

Due to my circumstances, I found myself in a homeless state. After spending two months in the Ascot hotel, and nowhere else to go. I found help with Derventio housing. I had read the reviews, and to be honest, initially felt sick to my stomach, and was scared about what I was letting myself in for. I was pleasantly surprised, and I felt relieved when I was greeted by two support workers, who took the time to listen. I was never judged, and when I explained my case to them, I could see that they trusted, and believed in me, and most importantly wanted to support me. After assessing my needs, a plan of action was put together, which we stuck to. I had some important meetings to attend, and at my request, they were by my side every step of the way. I also had a great work coach, supplied by Derventio, who visited the property, helping me regain confidence, and supporting me to follow the line of work I was interested in doing. It wasn’t all plain sailing, I was faced with some eventful times, with people from all walks of life, but again the support workers sorted those issues out. I want this review to be honest, and the accommodation that I was placed in was not the best, however, it was warm and dry, and much better than being faced with the streets, or where I had come from. I am now in independent living, Derventio helped to push me forward, and I’m starting a new life, and a new job.I want to give a special shout out to my support workers, Jo and Claire, as they picked me off the floor so many times, and made me believe that there was hope, and light at the end of the tunnel. They never doubted my capability and saw me at my worst, and lowest point in my life.Go into Derventio with an open mind, and willing to help yourself with their support, and you will achieve. You have to want to help yourself to be able to achieve what you want to achieve.

Just read top review about assault etc etc and it could of been me I was reading about . Had my teeth kicked out completely out and they backed the lads that done it. DEVENTIO promised me the whole 9 yards until ........they got there rent sorted ....then they dropped me like a stone ...I was burgled . I was assaulted and forced to live with drug users at that time ... There needs to be a inquiry into how this place is run. Staff who are good people leave when they realise what's going on there ...it's more criminal that alot of things I've ever done . Avoid at all costs .....NEW ROOTS in Birmingham is a great hostel and they have many .....ring them if you really need help . Good luck every homeless out there ...

Derventio housing have gone above and beyond for me, A situation arose and I was facing homelessness, Derventio stepped in and thankfully I was housed straight away. The support that I receive is brilliant, my support workers are always on hand, the house that I live in is lovely and I have great housemates. I am very grateful to Derventio.

Tennant for 4 years whilst bidding on home options.never getting a sniff at the possibility of my own place. I was given my notice and the Day it was up they changed the locks and didn't give me a chance to get my belongings.my mother was contacted by Debbie who was lovely and said that my things are going to be packed and put in storage for me as there was a few expensive items. I was homeless Sofa surfing struggling with mental health issues not knowing where to turn to after derventio gave up on me like a flash.my uncle went and fetched my belongings and I've recently been and fetched it as I've got a new flat of my own now. Turns out that the expensive items that Debbie mentioned are all missing. Xbox series X £500 . moncler sunglasses £190.samsung tablet £100.samsung Bluetooth headphones £150.laptop £150. Those things were all I owned worth anything. As if I hadn't been rock bottom already .someone who packed my belongings that day has stolen my things.its sick stealing from a vunerable mental health sufferer

This company work tirelessly to end the suffering caused by homelessness; they care about their residents and put them into good quality homes; a friend of mine had a very positive experience with them recently and has gone from being homeless to now living in his own property thanks to Derventio Housing Trust; thank you!

Only time they have ever been interested in me, is when I fell behind with rent, promise the world but deliver none of it.Only interested in milking as much money as they can from vulnerable people, the majority of the charges you won't even see where the money has gone. Reported the ceiling collapsing in the hallway, 6 months ago !! and it hasn't even been looked at.Stuck in a building full of drug dealers and mamba heads and they are expecting £130 a week for the pleasure !!Can't wait to see the back of the place.

No regard for the general public, allowing people to take advantage of the housing provided. After ignoring many voicemails , and refusing to call back I’ve assumed the Midlands director for the organisation just doesn’t careThey have replied to my review yet still have done nothing , I have to deal with the banging everyday (with rescue dogs not as easy as it sounds )I told them how to fix the issue they have just ignored me , now I have random men on my roof creating work and I have no say in it , awful organisation only concern is numbersThey then sent people to collect the file with all the times of reports in etc … I handed it to there reception , but after being told this they thought let’s go to the house with dogs and ask for it , how ignorant can you beHouse is almost filled damages still need repairing from banging caused , I literally get 2/3 hours maximum of im lucky and yet they tell me they take all complaints seriously , it’s 39 Stafford street and I’ve been complaining for the last 3 years. You even threatened me with the police because someone else even complained and left a note on the door , I believe the tenants of there house had just had a baby and once again your tenants come first

DO NOT GO FOR THEIR HELP my friend was put in shared accordion in stafford he got stuff stolen from him and was beaten up when he reported this the staff defended the person abusing him this went on for weeks he told them countless times it wasn't until the police got involved that action was taken. today he was beaten up and they didn't do anything or even say sorry. there are no risk assessments or procedures to avoiding this kind of behaviour its dangerous there's even been sign of drugs for the sake of your safety AVOID AT ALL COSTS
