Ossett Town Hall

Not at the town hall but at the market in front of the town hall. Nice little market with a reasonable selection of goods and pleasant stallholders. Plenty of places for a snack or a coffee.

Great building, so beautiful inside!! I popped in when they were doing the indoor market and there were some great little stalls - the best ones being the kids stalls. Good kids clothes prices.

It was nice to see most of the market stalls occupied and plenty of people shopping. It's good park ing for 2 hours free, just get a ticket from the ticket machine press the button to get a free parking ticket.

Been covered in scaffolding and tarp for ages, so impossible to know what it will look like. Hopes not high as WMDC are in charge and their record for criminal neglect of historical buildings and shoddy workmanship is well known throughout the country.We can just hope this isn't another Crown Court and Wood Street disaster area.

On Fridays the indoor market is hosted inside this building. There are ramps at both the entrance and the exit. To be Covid secure, a one way system is operating for customers visiting the stalls.Arts and crafts, books, cards, toys, clothes and collectables were all on sale, plus a variety of jewellery, watches, button badges and hand turned wooden products.The inside of the building looks grand and opulent. A taste of the decor and style from the turn of the 20th century. A large balcony, and velvet curtained stage, speak of concerts and performances in previous years. Outside the building is splendid and is made of beautifully coloured stone.The Town Hall overlooks the outdoor Market place. Parking is available nearby.
