Excellent selection of birthday cards and the like, well above the Clinton Cards level. New stock arrives quite often, so you don't have the did I send her that one last year?" worry. There's competition from a couple of other local art shops

This is a great little shop located in the centre of Bruntsfield ,the owner changes things around so as,a local there is always something new to look at. Quality of goods are good beautiful scarves, gloves .Glorious little multicoloured leather handbags with silver metal chains ideal as a gift. Her costume jewellery is very reasonably priced lots of pretty bracelets ,necklaces, earrings.Well worth a visit if your looking for a bit of inspiration

VERY POOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCEA pleasant after work trip turned out to be a sour experience due to lack of manager's empathy and understanding. I've been eying up a notebook online to buy as a gift and was excited to visit the shop to pick it up after work. I even phoned the shop up in advance to ask if it's okay if I bring my dog out of respect for any store rules and was delighted that they said yes. Unfortunately this is where my excitement ends and the rest of the story is a rather unpleasant experience whilst dealing with the staff in store. Once I've arrived, the notebook I had found online had some stains on it so I asked the sales lady if they had another one in stock. After checking the system, she informed me that unfortunately this was the last one. She then started scratching the stain off with her nail (!) to see if it comes off and although it did partially came off, there were still some minor marks left plus a faded spot where the original grey stain had been sitting before it was scratched off. This is obviously not an immaculate condition that you'd expect a £18.50 notebook to be in, so I kindly asked the sales lady if she would consider discounting the product as it's clearly got marks on it and is not good enough for a present. The lady was in agreement of the not-so-perfect aesthetic condition of the notebook and said that she can 'take a few pounds off' in her own words and that it would be £16.50 in total. I then asked her if she could do it for £15 because of said imperfections and was told that for this amount she will have to ask the manager. After speaking with the manager, the lady informed me that not only the manager doesn't want to come down to £15 but she's also sacking off the sales lady's original offer of £16.50 and can only offer a meek 10% discount thus making the faulty product even more expensive than the original offer which was a reduction of £2. Now obviously this is not a great customer experience to first find a product in store with cosmetic defects, to then have the sales people try and scratch it to make the marks come off, to then have to ask for a reduction and then finally have the manager not only decline a bigger discount but also sack off the original offer of a £2 reduction that I've been given before. Naturally, after hearing this, I have expressed my disappointed to the sales lady and she immediately started defending herself that she did not promise me anything despite saying the exact words of 'I can take a few pounds off' to me before and about to put it through the till. So I asked to speak to the manager myself in the hopes of that she would have enough experience to understand what constitutes a good customer service and I could reason with her. Boy how I was wrong. As soon as the manager emerged, I could see that she was bothered by the fact that I had called her and her tone of voice had an irritation to it when I tried to explain that one of her staff has literally just offered me a slightly larger reduction. The manager however just kept repeating herself saying 'I think 10% is enough' with total lack of empathy or any willingness to understand where I'm coming from. No apology was offered for the fact that A) the product they're selling at full price has cosmetic defects and B) that one of the staff promised me a £2 reduction which the manager was unwilling to acknowledge. Suffice to say this experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I left the store without purchasing said notebook. I hope that haggling over the price of a defective product was worth ruining a customer's mood and a waste of a trip to your store which I won't be buying from again and certainly not recommending to others. I had planned to make a few bigger purchases after my initial visit but you have definitely lost my business and I'll be taking it where customers feel valued and appreciated. A point of advice to management - make sure you check your inventory when stock comes in to avoid situations like this from happening in the future.

type of quirky individual design shop that deserves support. This is a lovely well run establishment with cards you will not find anywhere else so your greetings or messages of support stand out to those who receive them. Always pleasant and most supportive staff which makes a visit a delight. If in need of something a little different and unique then this store will not disappoint.

Been shopping here for greeting cards for years and I'm always delighted with the range of cards and they are no more expensive than cards you'd buy in one of the well known high street chains, and the quality is far superior.Staff are friendly and efficient which makes for a very pleasant shopping experience.

A lovely wee shop with a huge selection of cards and gifts. The quality of the products here are fantastic and I always find something that is a little bit different from the norm. The ladies in the shop always have a smile on their face and happy to help too. One of my favourite shops in Morningside :)
