I attended this hospital in order to have a Greek Visa medical form completed and paid £130 to see a GP there. He requested blood tests and an X ray to be done before he could sign the form. The price quoted for the tests was £411 and another £130 for the X-ray. This would make the total cost £671.My employer refused to pay this and I attended Harley Street where I saw a Dr, had an X ray and blood test completed for £222.The staff, Dr and other communications with this hospital have all been perfectly pleasant but in my circumstances it was £130 wasted due to the excessive prices or perhaps a low appetite for risk before signing a form.

I am leaving this review on behalf of my husband Roger Farmer who had laser treatment for TURP performed by Professor Khan on the 30th June 2023. He would like to make a few comments.Firstly I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart Professor Khan for his attention to the problem and the relief that it has consequently given me, also the personal care and kindness of all the staff on ward 2 and staff in the operating theatre I will forever be grateful.Kind regardsRoger

I attended Spire Leicester Hospital 2 weeks ago for surgery for an Umbilical Hernia. Like a fool I had left this problem for years without getting it attended to - and it was now protruding the size of a tennis ball9 year waiting list on the NHS if your lucky - hence the visit to SpireTo describe myself as a nervous patient is a major understatement - I was terrified! All my concerns were unnecessary. From arriving to leaving - the treatment was second to none. The receptionists, nurses, anaesthetist and the whole team that looked after me were nothing less than fantastic. Can’t thank them enough.2 weeks later I’m feeling great up and about, driving, back to work etc. I thought I’d be out of action for 6 weeks or more…Can’t thank them enough and highly recommend Spire LeicesterOh - I almost forgot. One last special thank you. Professor Lloyd that did the surgery. I knew from the start I was in the very best possible hands. Somehow carried out a big procedure with absolute minimum invasion. GENIUS!Many thanks to everyone at Spire!

A year ago we decided to have our daughter assessed for ADHD. We were a little ambivalent about the decision at the time but thanks to the care of Dr Mooncey we are now extremely glad that we took the plunge. She was really empathetic and supportive and made every effort to really get to know and understand our daughter and to help her to recognise her strengths and to support and thus minimise her weaknesses. With online meetings available the whole process was straightforward and unstressful and has helped our daughter onto a really positive path.

The car park at this hospital is an absolute disgrace. To say many consultant appointments are now around £200 for 15 minutes you do not expect to have to circle around for half an hour looking for a space and leaving your vehicle at high risk of damage due to the overly cramped conditions. A lot of the spaces seem to be taken by staff but it makes what is a stressful experience anyway so much worse when you can’t just park. I now go to Spire Nottingham instead it is far better organised and more friendly reception staff too.

I wouldn't know where to begin regarding my journey and a knee replacement, a very anxious and nervous patient I had put this op off for 5 years. I needn't have worried, wow what a team, from the reception staff, the porters, and catering team to the nurses doctors and consultants. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel, the care and professionalism was unbelievable. I would not hesitate to return or reccomend

Recent Private Day surgery patient.1. No post surgery observation done until buzzed for help on ward just left for 2 hours until I buzzed for assistance ( no GA just nerve block, therefore no monitoring in recovery post surgery was required). Therefore post surgery, this was the first observation done due to me requesting assistance via the call button (2 hours post surgery). The HCA who answered the call for assistance was lovely (hence the star is for her, if not for her I'm not sure I would have given any in regards) removed my canuela and having noticed my observations had not been done since been in surgery, so she did them.2. Buzzed for assistance to help with first time out of bed post surgery to use the bathroom. It took 15 minutes for a nurse to arrive and stipulate they could not assist me to the bathroom. I would have to wait for the physio. Another further 15 minutes later (so 30 minutes later in total after pressing the call button for assistance) the physio arrived to allow me to go to the bathroom.3. I was charged for crutches and pharmacy products. Apparently not covered with my insurance. However no one at Spire explained this to me at any point. Not at my pre assessment or on the ward at the time of presenting me with these billed for products.I already had crutches and medication from previous surgery two weeks prior, from a different hospital (same surgeon) So these items where not even required. Had I been made aware at any point of an extra charges I would not have excepted these items.4. No one checked my wound dressings or monitored my foot in regards to numbness, after a post surgery nerve block whilst on the ward or prior to discharge. When I arrived home straight away, I noticed my dressing where covered in blood.5. No post operative advice given verbally or written (for bleeding etc) or physio advice given on discharge. Although I did receive the ward contact number and a DVT leaflet, I tried to ring but no answer.Due to already having surgery at another hospital I read their advice for post surgery bleeds and other required information and, luckily the bleeding soon stopped.I have also followed previous advice for post-op physio from the other hospital too.I understand that wards can be busy and that during staff change over and lunchtimes, things can be hectic. However when taking all this in to consideration. I felt it neccesary to share my recent experience, as constructive criticism. Hopefully allowing my personal experiences to help in moving forward for future patients benefits. This is no reflection on the surgery, surgeon or the actual procedure. I have to say I am very happy with that. This is review is for the post surgery ward care on the ward and post operation day and outpatient Care.

I went for surgery has a private patient and will not use them again (ward patient). I intend on passing the information and reasons for this 2 stars on to my consultant shortly .I had 2 very nice staff on the ward a HCA and a member of the catering team, I have given the 2 stars for them alone, if not for them I would have given just 1 star.

Very happy with the service received from the Spire GP Service at Oadby.Dr Philip Green, associate GP, was very knowledgeable and helpful and made ‘going to the doctors’ a pleasant, enjoyable experience. His detailed summary letter arrived in the post 2 working days later too.It was easy to book a 30-minute appointment online for a Saturday.
