Fruttivendolo
At the start I was a bit sceptical because of prices, but everything they sell is top quality and I can find everything I have always missed from Italy in Edinburgh for over a decade. Fresh sage, dried Sicilian oregano, taralli, pasta Rummo, Molisana, polenta. Then their veggies and fruits are coming directly from Italy, they even have Treviso radicchio. Plus, everybody at the shop is very friendly and polite.

This place is a hidden gem - delicious fresh Italian cannoli, wide selection of Italian groceries (including a tonne of great pasta shapes) plus of course a fantastic plastic free fruit and veg section. Great alternative for everyday and specialty shopping!

The Italian name of the shop means the shop selling fruit and vegetables ". You can find many different kind of fruits and vegetables actually. There are original grocery Italian products of the most popular Italian brands. A good choice for fresh cheese

My recent visit to the Fruttivendolo place in Edinburgh left me extremely disappointed. Not only was the place overpriced, but the quality of the products and the service were abysmal. I regretfully had to throw away most of the items I purchased as they were already rotten within a couple of days.To begin with, I decided to give their expensive black sun tomatoes a try, hoping for a burst of flavor. However, I was sorely disappointed when I found them tasteless and bland. The high price I paid for these tomatoes did not match the lackluster experience they provided.Furthermore, my dissatisfaction continued at the checkout counter. I had paid for a bag to carry my goods, but as the cashier was packing, the bag suddenly tore apart. Despite bringing this issue to their attention, I was not provided with a replacement bag or any form of compensation. It was an inconvenience that should have been addressed promptly and professionally.Adding insult to injury, while the cashier was clumsily handling the products, numerous items were dropped onto the floor. Shockingly, instead of discarding the fallen goods or ensuring their cleanliness, the cashier carelessly placed them back in the bag as if nothing had happened. This lack of attention to hygiene and customer service was deeply disappointing.Overall, I cannot recommend this place in Edinburgh. The exorbitant prices, coupled with the rotten produce, tasteless tomatoes, and the unprofessional behavior of the cashier, made for a regrettable experience. I advise potential customers to explore alternative options for quality and value.

Wow a proper Italian Greengrocer in the middle of Edinburgh! Amazing fruit and vegetables, fresh bread. Pasta and sauces. Italian meats and cheeses. Plus cakes and patisserie. Fruit and vegetables that taste how they used to taste, not like the supermarket rubbish! They have now a selection of Italian beers and wines.

Finally, really authentic Italian products in Edinburgh. Fruit and vegetables that taste like they should. They may not be organic but they are probably healthier than supermarket fruits and vegetables that seem to last forever. It is not normal for tomatoes to last 2 weeks in the fridge! We were so happy to find all our favourite Mulino Bianco cookies! Homemade lasagna and other pasta dishes. My favourite beer, the Sardinian Ichnusa. It is pricey, maybe just for special occasions, but worthwhile if you appreciate authentic Italian food and produce. On Saturday there is always a tasting table of savoury and sweet products.

Unfortunately most of the fruit and veggies tha they sell are either mouldy or they get dangerously mouldy the day after. It happened often and considering the price it's just absurd.

Nicely fitted Italian farm shop. Really enjoyed the way they have organised and also Italian range and their wines are good. They had the crunchy pear, tomato varieties and pastas.Good effort in the middle of Edinburgh, But I feel entirely over priced.

Excellent Italian grocer with an amazing authentic selection of fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, dry goods, alcohol, baked goods, and even some locally foraged mushrooms if you’re lucky! Love that you can pick and choose exactly what you need and pay by weight. They also thoughtfully hand write the vitamins in each produce. Pretty high prices though.
