A very nice hotel close to amenities in the Georgian section of the city. My first visit to Newcastle, female travelling alone, and the Reception staff were very approachable, giving me directions etc. Breakfast staff were also cheery and helpful. Double room was just right. Absolutely no complaints. Would stay there again.

We arranged a charity event here in September and the venue and team were excellent. Mark the manager was excellent, helped us to arrange the event and was very accommodating to our needs. The buffet was also fantastic. One of our guests commented that it was the best buffet that they had ever had. I would highly recommend Grey Street Hotel for any corporate events that you are hosting.

Had a great trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room on the top floor was stylish, comfortable and clean. No noise issue up there. Breakfast was well-cooked and there was a good choice on the menu. No concerns with recommending this hotel to friends.

Great city location, excellent breakfast service, but unfortunately we had one of the Suites facing grey street, windows don't drown out sound from nearby bars, noise until early morning, followed by workmen opposite in morning, bad nights sleep. Bathroom needs re-jigging with lower bath for the older generation and a his/her showers, taller people wouldn't be able to use the shower, a wet room would be more more convenient. Other than that room was good.

The location is perfect and it's a nice hotel. Our hairdryer was broken in the room they did supply a replacement though. We only ever got 1 pkt of biscuits even though it was a twin room, which is a bit mean! All the staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The bar and restaurant have a great vibe and are bouncing on a weekend!

Could not get near the hotel with our car due to construction so had to drag luggage several blocks through town. Air conditioning was not working and was supposedly to be fixed remotely...never happened. They offered us a fan for the room but with the windows open then it was so noisy in the streets. The room was beautiful and comfortable but the above mentioned problems left us unhappy.

My first stop here at the Grey St. hotel. I stop regularly in Newcastle and stopped at a variety of hotels in the city. I will get the only negative out the way first, my room (32) had a very noisy extractor fan on the outside wall, that was making a racket all day and night. The windows made hardly a dent in reducing the noise, so do take ear plugs. Other than that, easy to find, Easy to park nearby, disabled facilities for the less mobile. The receptionists were all polite and attentive (a credit to the hotel) the bar was a delight to be in. My room was just the right size for a solo traveller. Probably to small for a couple. Shower was excellent and the room had everything i needed. I will definitely be stopping here again on my travels to Newcastle (upon Tyne)

My husband and I stayed here at the weekend with friends. What a gem of a find. Just a short walk from the train station and very central to all of the shopping, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was really good. It was very nicely decorated, the rooms were lovely, the breakfast was great and all of the staff that we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. The young woman who was taking breakfast orders on both days was so friendly and gave us some tips of where to go to on our nights out. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the hotel - you wont be disappointed

The rooms are lovely, stunning building and decor and the breakfast was fantastic but it’s the staff that make this venue stand out. We were staying at the hotel as we had my daughters 21st birthday party arranged in the Eva Rose room that evening. Julie in particular could not do more to help, arranging balloons, welcome sign, food when we wanted it and we had a dedicated barman for the evening. Cocktail trees went down a treat, the DJ booth an added bonus, was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all. THANK YOU!
