R-Tech Welding Equipment Ltd

Goods arrived in just 2 days, superbly packaged and when it was out and all connected up I used it for the first time, what a lovely smooth welder the Rtech 181 mig welder is, plus so light and easy to carry and the easy set mode is awesome, all in all very pleased, great product and well made.

I bought an R-Tech 180 mig based on the reviews received, it arrived on time and it appeared initially to be a good product, however, the wire drive motor quickly failed. I returned the welder to R-Tech and they repaired it and sent it back. Next time the welder was used the wire feeder motor failed again, the welder went back to R-Tech who fixed it again and returned it but this time the case got dented. I haven't used the welder since then until this weekend when lo and behold! after 5 minutes use, the wire drive failed again! there has to be a design fault in the PCB or there is a poor quality component in there. I await with bated breath the excuse this time!

I have purchased quite a few items from R-tech welding including the 3 in 1 mig,mma,tig welding machine, welding masks and the latest,an air fed welding mask,purchased just under a year ago!In fairness,the 3 in 1 machine has been ok,certainly does not give a real top end weld but OK for domestic use,however I have only used the machine a few times,so I can't really comment as to if it would stand up to any real longevity, only time will tell,but as said,probably OK for home use but expensive if your going to use it for just the hobby projects!Had issues with R-tech welding masks before,they are just so flimsy,do not stand up to any normal wear and mine ended up falling apart and the screen prematurely stopped working,not a battery issue! R - tech did replace it albeit trying to fob me off with a lesser standard mask,but I refused that and in the end I was sent a equivalent!!Latest issue is the air fed mask I purchased nearly a year ago,I have only been using the mask for 6 months as I had no need to use it straight from purchase, well suffice to say,it's falling apart,the belt that holds the air fed unit came apart at the buckle,there is no damage whatsoever its just very poorly secured,stuck.on I think and the helmet itself is so flimsy,scratches far too easily and the face enclosure fabric is coming away from the mask itself,so,defeating the purpose of keeping out the fumes,it looks like it's stuck on with contact adhesive!!I contacted R-tech and in fairness offered to send me a replacement belt,but when you pay good money for something, you expect it to last at least a decent length of time before things go wrong!! My advice would be,if your a serious welder,steer well clear of R-tech the standard is very poor,save up the extra money needed and go with speedglass 3M, you won't regret it!!

Just received my MIG 180 welder and am very impressed. Not the cheapest welder available, however the quality speaks for itself. Well packaged and quick delivery, with spare consumables and comprehensive instructions. Everything worked flawlessly, and great welding experience. Bought this to replace an old Wolfe MIg, and the difference is vast: great welds from the outset. Wish I’d bought one years ago!

My old basic MIG had died and on the strength of the RTech reviews I called in to discuss a replacement. Despite being near to closing time Graham behind the counter took all the time needed to advise me on my choices including a new helmet etc. Great friendly and efficient service, the welder is still boxed at home waiting for the darker evening when I start a new restoration project.

Was in a predicament.R-tech (Ben) were extremely helpful in diagnosing my problem and at this moment my pcb is on the way to Phillipines where I am now based.Cannot praise Ben enough for his perseverance with my problem

Excellent service and advice. Some of the best customer service I've experienced in my lifetime. A rarity in this day and age. I ordered the MIG-180 which arrived the next day. It was packaged very well. The machine is robustly built with obvious care to quality. It functions as well as a beginner like me can determine. It's clear from my experience why the R-tech machines are so popular with the local crowd. Highly recommended!
