Visited for the first time and loved it, the 3 bird hides are great, many different birds, plenty birds of prey, looking forward to coming back in the spring.

Had a lovely little walk around the area and wondered what all the new fencing was for! Fencing is a great idea to keep out the predators for the new wading and nesting area, shame it looks so ugly. There are 3 hides and they were busy with people coming and going, especially small groups! Start out your wall from Blue House Farm and visit the hides, then continue your wall back along the sea wall. Only issue is parking as there is a small car park but not everyone parks properly. If you are going to block someone in, leave a phone number in your window, or better, park somewhere else!

A hidden gem of a nature reserve. Always something to see and sometimes it holds some fantastic birds. Great Northern Diver and Guillemot were seen last winter. But I just wish they would get more water in so the Wildfowl numbers could increase. Overall a fantastic day out not to be missed.

Good for migrating birds and resident wild life a like. Some good field walks and riverside walks. The Ferry Boat Inn is a good stop for lunch, dinner or a sandwich and a pint located at the bottom of Ferry Road on the southern end of the reserve.

Excellent guided walk today, recommend keeping an eye on future events. Really well managed reserve and very knowledgeable staff. Huge variety of bird life throughout the reserve.

Walked the circular walk on a beautiful sunny day. As well as the swans, sea birds, ducks etc, we saw a marsh harrier, a kestrel, dragonflies and an adder. A fabulous place. We'll be back in the autumn!

Quiet, tranquil place with acres of lush greenland and marshes. Beautiful place to admire nature away from the crowds.

Blue House Farm
Great little walk, however it can be boggy at places, as long as you wear a good pair of walking boots you'll be fine, also highly recommended for ornithology.

Great place to see wildlife. One of the best places in Essex to spot marsh harriers.
