Progress Launderette

Cheap and near train/bus station, so it is very easy to get here. Prices are fairly low, washing machines as well as dryers available. Great opening hours come handy if you are stuck at work a lot and/or till quite late. You do need to bring your own washing powder or similar stuff, though.

Came here for a heavy wash. I had maybe fourth loads to wash and dry. There is no coin machine and no machine with single use detergent/softener. It was very hard to get the coinage needed to do the wash and went to every establishment available so do stock up on coinage. Luckily there was a regular there and she let me know that the larger machines take .50, £1 and £2 coins. Nothing is marked to let you know which denomination of coins could be used.As far as the machines there's several pictographs on the machine and I'm not sure what each meant, but the bottom right was forthe main laundry detergent. All and all I got the job done but I wish the machines took care of that the establishment had a coin machine

Friendly and accommodating owners. It does get very busy so make sure you leave plenty of time. Recently upgraded their large washers. Very high cleanliness standards.

Good service and machines work well but they are very expensive and only use £1 coins. No card machines is a bit backwards in today's world

No attendant, no change machine, no detergent. 4 washers now accept cards, but 4 are coin only, and all the dryers are coin only. Nearby businesses refuse to give change in pound coins because too many people ask. This is quite problematic when you think about it. It's creating ill will between local businesses.

All good except the machines needs to accept all coin denominations to make up £1 or take card. It is getting really tough to get £1 coins..or make some arrangement at the shop to get £1 from the machines.

Good washers and dryers, but there appears to be nobody on site in case of issues, the instructions are next to nonexistent and there's no change machine and the machines only accept coins. Considering that users need to have £5-7 in £1/2 coins for each wash and £1 coin fir every 12 minutes if dry time, the owners either need to update the machines to take notes and/or cards, or supply a change machine. It's naughty to expect all the local businesses to provide change for the launderette's customers.

Expensive. Could probably bring costs down and increase usage with a machine that takes card/ notes and gives out change. Less coin processing for management and easier access to use for customers.. Costa didn't want to give small change over the road..
