My 13 year old daughter has been horse riding here since before the start of covid and she loves it, she would not go anywhere else. Ray is a fantastic tutor with years of riding experience behind him, which shows when he is trying to teach and hone the skills of the rider, always encouraging them whilst giving them practical skills to ensure they get the best out of their lesson.

Our daughter K loves going to Hamsey. She says Rays helped me so much. Helping me learn how to ride. I'm grateful we've found such a great teacher.""

My daughter has been riding here for a year now and was a complete beginner to start. One year on and she is now in complete control of the variety of different horses. The amount she has learnt in a year is simple amazing, this is all down to the years of experience and teaching nature of the trainer Ray. Everyone at Hamseys are very friendly and the horses are lovely and calm. My daughter will remain to train with Ray for many more years. Thank you Hamseys.

Lilly has been learning to ride with Ray for 6 months now and is loving every moment. She has significantly progressed in her riding ability and confidence thanks to the tutoring offered by Ray. He is an exceptional trainer and I couldn’t recommend him more.

Ray is an excellent teacher - and a kind man. Our children felt safe, had a lot of fun and definitively want to come again. They were surprised at how much progress they made during the first lesson. There are many horses of different size and temperament, all well kept. The place has charm and the price is reasonable for a lesson.Highly recommended.

Went with my niece for her riding lesson and was so lovely to watch. The instructor was amazing and patient with the class. The instructor also let me sit on my niece's horse and a little ride at the end of the lesson which was the first time ever I've been on a horse. Was such an amazing experience, I can now tick that off my bucket list but I will be coming back to book a lesson for myself ☺️

I go riding once a week and have enjoyed it for 6 years. You can go on hacks or indoor lessons wich zre both great. It is a very kind and happy environment.

My daughter ( 6 years old) started with lessons in September, she is having great time and loving every lesson. She has full off twice but that has not stopped her from returning .Lessons are in indoors riding school with great teacher .

I am an adult beginner . I explicitly explained I had only 4 lessons before.I was asked before the lesson if I could canter- I said ‘no!’ I was given a 16+ hands thorough bred ex race horse to ride which I was told would kick or bite other horses. I was in a lesson with 6 competent young riders on ponies that wouldn’t move beyond trot and one other competent rider on a smaller thorough bred. The lesson started at rising trot- then moved to zig zagging ( remember I am a beginner) then totting. Then it was zig zagging into canter ( remember my comment earlier) - I just managed to stay in the saddle- a competent teacher would have thought this is beyond his skill set- So the next exercise was from stand still to canter- amazingly I managed not to fall off- I then decided that I was in danger and left. If you are an adult new learner or a nervous rider avoid this stables like the plague.
