The Mayview B&B

The room we stayed in was comically small especially since I shared it with a friend who was 6ft3”, barely enough room to move in both the room and the bathroom where we could only just about fit, beds were uncomfortable and we were not given a WiFi password and since there were no staff around we could not ask any questions, had some issues with trying to request a late check-out and was told I would have to pay for a second night despite their website saying that you could request a late check-out.Furthermore there was no noise management and shouting from outside the hotel door and in other rooms went on throughout the early hours of the morning.If nothing else the size of the room was a good laugh.

Broken bedsheets, TV not working and rude cleaning lady who came into the room without knocking and didn’t even apologize. Better pay 10£ more and stay at ibis or any other hotel

Cozy little place to stay. We wanted to stay for 3 nights but we got reservations only for the 1st and 3rd nights while booking through 3rd party websites. One phone call later, we were booked into a (very) small room for all three days. Since it was the Bank Holiday weekend, the B&B was full and this was the only available room left. We were warned of the room being small. While the size of the room would make it ideal for 1 person to stay with a single bed, the room had a double bed, which left very little room for two people to stand. My husband and I stayed here and one of us had to sit on the bed to give the other room to get dressed. The toilet and shower cubicle is extremely tiny. However, price wise, the deal was a steal so no complaints.There's no option of hot, cooked breakfast at the moment due to Covid however, there are lots of cereal options, bread, milk, butter, jam and fresh fruits for the guests to eat throughout the day. While the Mayview usually charges an extra £5 for breakfast, we were told that the continental options provided would be available at no extra charges since there's no hot/ cooked breakfast (very kind!)If the purpose of your trip is sightseeing or if you're going to be outdoors most of the day and just need a place to crash for the night and shower in the morning (as we did) this works just well.

A typical b and b. Nice room. My bed was slightly to hard for my back. We only had 1shower gel , no soap. The tea and coffee is really nice for me, I like a drink before i go for breakfast. Just to let you know there is no hair dryer or iron in room. Room rates are very inexpensive for what you get. Ling was a lovely host and so was the lady at breakfast.

Clean fresh with comfy beds fantastic staff that were very welcoming .very close to the centre of town .the breakfast was excellent.the only thing I would change is the curtains in room 8 as there was a street light right outside that was on all night not a issue for me but maybe good to know if it is for you. Our stay was a 10 out of 10 due to the staffs hard work.

My stay here was awful. To the point that on the second night we decided to find another place to stay, even though we had payed for the second night already. The rooms are very small and dingy. To make my stay even worse was the customer service I have received after my stay here. I was told by a women at the desk that I could park in a space outside of the building, as they owned residency of the space. Not long after my stay I received a parking fine in the post, then when calling the hotel multiple times to resolve this, as soon as I mention the occurrence they hang up right away and ignore when I call back. I have had to pay the fine because they would not take my calls.

I know one can't expect luxury for £45 but... I booked this place through Airbnb. From the very beginning there was 0.0 communication (except one auto-reply), leaving me worried for hours if I actually had a place to sleep in the evening (arrival later than the check-in hours). When I finally got to the room, I found a bed with a mattress that qualifies for immediate replacal (I actually had pain in my back in the morning). The last time the room was thoroughly cleaned is quite a bit ago as well. Water pressure in the shower is low, but not sure if that can be fixed easily. Breakfast was provided and was decent, considering the price.

Extremely small rooms. No cleaning service at rooms. Share one Shower WC with 4 rooms. Excellent staff. Good breakfast. Prices is to high. 70 pounds per day is too expensive. Even for England. A fair price for this kind of rooms is near to 30-35 pounds.

Clean, comfy room and centric. However, the shared toilettes were dirty and without paper. The Tv didn’t work and the family next to my room had two or three loud kids. The woman working there a bit rude.Definitely not a 3 star B&B
