Gifford House Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Edinburgh, Scotland

David and Margaret are most gracious and knowledgable hosts. We were able to really depend on what especially David told us in terms of sights and even bus schedules. Breakfast was impeccable, my husband tried the haggis and found it very much to his liking. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day-stay and would've liked to stay longer.

We had a wonderful stay at Gifford House. An outstanding B&B guesthouse with huge, comfortable period rooms & an excellent choice of breakfast. About 20 minutes walk into the city but a frequent bus service virtually outside the door. Reasonably priced too. Would certainly recommend.

After I discovered Gifford House, there was no need to look for any other accommodation in Edinburgh - it is perfect! The rooms are spacious, clean, and bright; breakfasts are freshly cooked and delicious; and the owners, Margaret and David, are genuinely friendly and helpful. Over the years, I have stayed here many times, and it is invariably a pleasant experience. Plus it's an ideal location from which to explore Edinburgh. I cannot recommend Gifford House highly enough !

This is a lovely place which really nice rooms and bathrooms. The owners were nice people. It's a bit far from the busy areas though there are buses available just outside. In the time of bus diversions however, it becomes a bit hard to travel.There are only stairs to the rooms so this might be a problem for people who have trouble with their legs.The breakfast served was rather nice as well. If we had booked earlier we would have gotten a much better price and it would have been really good value for money.There is a hill just nearby which looks like it would be fantastic to climb.There is a large selection of movies in the lobby, all fantastic ones. Overall, this is a nice place that we would stay at again, however, we may want to do some research on the state of public transport before we go.

The room was perfect. We had a quad room on the first (second) floor . It was large and clean and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was really good and had full Scottish breakfast or a la carte from eggs to breadsand cereals. The hosts were very gracious and made us feel like it was our home.

We had a brilliant 3 night stay. David and Margaret are excellent hosts, very friendly and happy to talk to you. The house is absolutely spotless, the bedroom was perfect, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. Easy link into town and elsewhere with a frequent bus service bang outside the door.

This is a beautiful, quaint little hotel, located conveniently close to the city centre, having good transportation access. The hotel is maintained at a highly professional level. The staff are extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. It has very pretty interiors and very clean rooms. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Edinburgh. The hotel is run by a family, who were extremely helpful in suggesting places for us to visit.

You will struggle to find a more welcoming place to stay in edinburgh. David and Margaret are fantastic hosts and made me feel right at home. My room was immaculate and the breakfast was delicious!Can't recommend enough.
