Mei Quan Tai Chi - Reading

This Taichi school literally changed my life in so many amazing ways! The classes go as deep and precise as you like, at the same time it’s such a friendly bunch! Our taichi t-teacher (Stuart) is great! And together with all the assistants they ensure perfectly paced guidance. It might seem slow at the beginning, but that’s just to ensure solid base and then it picks up. It follows the taichi principles, the school is based on four pillars of the form, qi gong, push hands and application and they explain not just “how” but also “why”! I have been attending the classes for over 3 years now, the group is so nice! You can come just for the Taichi or for the QiGong classes or both. On top of it, the Mei Chuan school is bigger and provides opportunities to further expand the skills if you want to - it has further classes in London, you can extend to masterclasses and workshops, or specialised classes on fan taichi, calligraphy, martial taichi or even taichi with sword and they make “online morning sessions”, which are free to all school students. To top that up, we also have our tea brakes between the two classes on Tuesday (who doesn’t like tasting sweets from all over the World, while chatting with your fellow Taichi practitioners?) :) This is a hidden Reading gem..

I have been with this group for a couple of years now and it's the best martial arts school I have joined. Mira, the teacher, is knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding, and she is always ready to listen to the needs of each individual. The other students are very welcoming, and we often have friendly social events. The school doesn't require you undertake any exams to move forward in your practice, which keeps the atmosphere relaxed at all times, where students are free to take the practice at their own pace. I would strongly recommend this school for any beginner of experienced person, as there are different classes that cater to different skill levels.
