On our recent visit to the Holy Island, we called here for a drink. We joined an already large queue at the bar waiting to be served, with nobody behind it?A large middle-aged and very rude woman who obviously worked there. Pushed her way past us and everyone in the queue without any acknowledgement whatsoever and proceded to a table to chat. This is unfriendly, unwelcoming, and very rude. With this in mind, we left immediately and went to the pub across (Crown & Anchor) who were friendly and inviting. They made us feel welcome, and the pub was busy.

We have spent three nights here. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The food was great and our room was warm and cosy. Lindisfarne is such a tranquil place and the Manor House hotel was a great place to relax. We enjoyed it so much we are going to come back again in March.

Still serving food when everyone else on the island seemed to have given up for the afternoon. Great vegan food, a really rich tomato and pepper soup with gluten free bread and a properly done vegan burger. Much better than the allegedly identical burger from a pub a couple of miles away on the mainland.Would recommend.

I stayed overnight in the 1 bed room and it looked nothing like the picture. It was pretty dated and not very cosy, and I had to cross the hallway to use the loo and bath, which isn't ideal. I had tea in the bar, which was quiet, and the lady who served me was lovely and the food was really good. The service when I first checked in was an older woman who was a bit cold, but everyone else was lovely.

Lindisfarne is an extraordinary place, and staying at the Manor House Hotel is a fantastic choice to experience it. My dog and I stayed at the hotel for one night, and we had an amazing time. Not all rooms are dog friendly, so it's worth booking early to make sure you can get one if you have a dog.We crossed the causeway to find the island packed with day trippers - but the hotel helped us find parking in their car park, and as the tide came in, the island suddenly became empty, and the atmosphere totally changed to one of serenity and peace. We had an incredibly warm welcome at the hotel (all the staff were lovely during our entire visit, and were really helpful beforehand when ringing them on the phone). The room was spotlessly clean. While the building appeared to be older and characterful, everything in our room felt up to date.We had an excellent dinner at the hotel, and a very peaceful night's sleep in our warm and cosy room. The hotel is perfectly placed to explore the island - we walked out to Lindisfarne Castle for sunrise, and came back to a freshly cooked breakfast. Our experience of the island was greatly enhanced by staying at the Manor House, and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

My second experience at Manor House since 2019. Ashley and Richard were so welcoming and accommodating. The wonder of Holy Island combined with the experience at Manor House is a MUST on your bucket list of life.

Christian visitors to Holy Island for the day (30.08.23), I was with my sister and her three young girls, whom I was visiting in Newcastle. It was the most beautiful day and we thought we would have a quick bite before driving back, enjoying the view, and we found an empty table so thought this a likely possibility.I waited at least 5 minutes for someone to speak to me, despite there being three people behind the bar. From memory one of them was young and on her phone. No one addressed me.I then politely asked the older woman (who seemed like the manager, and who ended up walking past me) for a menu. She rudely and haughtily told me that unless we had booked we could not be served, including drinks (you'd think pubs would want as much money as possible; this woman acted as though she couldn't care less about travellers). Was any outside table marked 'reserved'? No (see photos). I felt really unwelcome. And I see other reviews have mentioned the same behaviour. This woman needs some serious customer service training...!So we went across the road to the Crown and Anchor who, though they had run out of mains (I think because of bookings) couldn't have been nicer and more hospitable. They bent over backwards for us. They provided the girls with nuggets and chips, and we had a lovely time in the beer garden. The locals both inside and out were very welcoming and chatty. It is less smart than the Manor but I would take a great atmosphere over a gentrified interior, any day.In short, the Manor's treatment of us marred what had otherwise been a special day. Shame on them.

Visited this evening for dinner in the restaurant. The food was lovely and we were very well looked after. The staff were very patient as we had a crying baby with us. Will definitely go back and visit again!
