The Earl of Derby

We had a wedding reception here and they were fantastic, lovely people who put on a great little buffet in the function room. Drink prices were reasonable, and the amount of food we got for the price per head was brilliant. We had about 20 people there and the buffet table was stocked up for a long while, plenty of room for more people too. Nice place overall.

I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch/dinner. The breakfasts looked nice. We were a table of 5 adults, and all our food came out at different times. We wanted to enjoy a meal together but ended up watching 1 person eat. Then mine came out and I finished before the other 3 came out. A table that came in after started being served dishes we were waiting for. The quality of the ingredients is of a low standard. For example, small packaged breaded chicken burgers, basic mac and cheese, small portions for the price. Charged for soda water, which is a pet hate of mine. The location is good, right next to the train station. They do private parties and have music on sometimes. Big tvs, perfect for sports. I'd visit for drinks but not for a meal with family or friends.

So I had stayed at the Earl on the 16th of this month,- reached Cambridge late evening and was almost lost , but then the person who picked up the phone, went out of their way to guide me on my route towards Earl, coordinating with me over the phone as well as we were using the Map.That was not all. He ensured I feel comfortable , by taking my dinner order and delivering it to my room, as he knew I was physically and mentally fatigued,Me being the service industry tpp know the value of customer Enhancement. I am very delighted to state his name is 'RIGUEL' You are amazing and Earl should be very proud to have you as their hospitality staff

Always been one of Cambridges good public houses. Lovely food. Great staff. Covered outside area. Little outside bar. Very welcoming . Popular place to stay or pop in for a good pint before your day/night out train ride home.

Awesome service. Good food, good atmosphere

Very large double room with an en-suite that had an amazing shower. The bed was huge and really comfy. Everything was clean, warm and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. £7.50 for a delicious vegetarian cooked breakfast and unlimited coffee. Free parking and lots of outside seating. Great value and ideally situated for The Junction and Cambridge Leisure Park. Would definitely recommend The Earl of Derby to anyone wanting to stay in Cambridge.

Great place. Makes your money value. Clean, quiet and nice staff. Close to city centre

It is a great place to have a typical British breakfast. The other meals are very good as well

The pub having only one draught ale on tap disappointed me a tad. It was a below average Green King IPA too to make things worse. Bar staff were efficient and helpful. The place had a good atmosphere as usual.

Nipped in for some late lunch before our train back home from Cambridge. Lady we met night before said it was a nice little pub with good rooms and decent food. OK pub just a bit crowded inside with the tables so near to each other, there was tables outside the back aswell you can use, but we were inside and most in there at the time were watching football ⚽️. Food was ok, only had Jacket spud each, friends cheese on hers was melted completely so think to be honest it had been put in the microwave, was OK thou, filled a gap and was reasonably price. Would go again if we were in the area again.
