Leonardo Hotel Newcastle - Formerly Jurys Inn

I'm going to this hotel a 5 star.When we arrived we checked into our room. Unfortunately it wasn't cleaned properly. I'm not one to ask reception to move rooms but on this occasion I did.Reception staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay better!We moved rooms, beds comfy, bathroom clean happy days!We decided to eat it the hotel.Service excellent and friendly!We were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection. My husband really enjoyed the lasagne. It was freezing in the bar but after at chat with the barman it was rectified the next evening.All we can say is, yes we would stay here again . The staff go above and beyond are engaged , friendly and genuine.

I was disappointed as we had no hot water for showers. We were moved to another room but had same problem. Apparently it was a major boiler problem and lots were affected. No attempt at recompense. Most staff were trying to help. Room was okay but a bit tired. No bins in bathroom and cheapest possible toilet paper. False economy. Need to up their game for prices charged.

Nice hotel, lovely staff. Breakfast is usually lovely, hot and fresh, but one day out of the four we were there it was not so great and we guessed there was a change of chef in the kitchens! The rooms are well appointed, though looking a little shabby in the corners. Very clean, though. Good position in the city, close to the Tyne for Riverside walks and close to the city for exploration. Seems a popular business hotel, too.

Bed was comfy and was on a good location! However the shower and taps leaked all over the floor and my room was next to what sounded like a very noisy boiler room which went all through the night. I did speak to the receptionist requesting to be moved but they weren’t very helpful.

If I could give a zero star that’s what it would get. I travel for a living and have never had such a poor hotel experience. Service is horrible, the toilet didn’t flush once fully our entire stay. Water barely gets hot, and my personal favorite: There was MOLD in our water boiler. No microwave for guest use, no water or ice machine. Just a disgusting lemon water that sits for 2-3 days at a time. Never staying at this chain of hotels again. The general manager should be fired for his attitude.

Staff were friendly. Despite our room looking tired and in need of refurbishing, it was a very decent size, spotlessly clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice.Now for the negatives....the evening meals were very bland and pretty tasteless. I'm not sure if it was because we were with a coach party but it definitely was not of the same standard as the food serviced to individual 'paying' guests.

Loved this hotel. Rooms nice and big, usual tea and coffee facilities with some flavoured teas along with the PG tips tea bags, which was a lovely addition. Bed was lovely and comfy. Staff were so nice and accomodating. Great value. Good location too. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Stayed here as part of a deal and couldn’t have asked for more from the staff. They really did make the trip. Right from the get go they made us feel welcome. Rooms are a great size if a little dated. Would use again without a doubt! Xxx

Rooms are clean, but need of an upgrade, particularly the bathrooms. Daily room cleaning was a little sporadic (beds never made, and bathroom sometimes not cleaned) but it wasn't a major problem. Staff are super friendly and helpful though, and really make this hotel a great place to stay. It's a 5 minute walk from the train station, so really handy. You can leave your luggage with recy on your last day if you have more exploring to do!

Nice room and a good price. The rooms were nice and clean, slightly dated in some aspects, but for the price, they are completely fine. Breakfast was nice. 10-15 minute walk from the town. Staff were really friendly. I would stay again.
