Holiday Inn Manchester - West, an IHG Hotel

Located in industrial area but actually very conveniently situated for city centre, Media City, Old Trafford, Salford Uni etc. This hotel is not as it seems! Outside it looks out of place in industrial are but inside it's a great hotel, clean, nice layout, great staff. Bar area is open and relaxing which is next to restaurant. Small evening menu but food is of good quality, burgers, wraps, fish and chips etc (large portions). Breakfast bar is mixture of English and European but good selection. Look for advance bookings to save money, you can get very good deals. Highly recommend if you don't mind the immediate area. The hotel car park usually has ample spaces for residents and has gates which close at night, looks safe.

*WARNING - BE VERY CAREFUL*I got a parking ticket because of misinformation from staff as English comprehension was very poor.I spoke to two separate members of staff at the reception and due to English communications levels being below standard I got a parking ticket.I asked twice and received the same information. Level of English is very, very poor. BE VER CAREFUL WHEN PARKING.

Doesn’t look bad when you first get there BUT. If you want a good nights sleep, DO NOT book this hotel, creaky floor boards throughout! Paper thin walls. Heard every step of anyone walking above us and in the corridor. Absolutely shattered, would not recommend AT ALL! I tried to call the front desk, but no answer.

Room was way too warm and the air conditioning is rubbish even on max, I couldn't sleep all night because it was too hot. Everything else was good though and bed was comfortable.One other thing is there's no fridge in the room to store drinks, every other hotel I've been to has a small fridge in the room with free bottled water so that would be useful.

Staff were friendly & welcoming. Great car parking facilities. Stayed in a twin room & room had a water tank in it which was incredibly loud all night long - was like the shower was running all night. Didn't sleep very well as a consequence. Staff weren't too bothered when I informed them at check out.Breakfast was OK but no gluten free bread available despite a sign saying that there was. They hadn't restocked it / couldn't find any in kitchen.Hotel has a great bar area & area for working with plenty of sockets & comfortable chairs etc.
