Queens Hotel

We really enjoyed the Queen's Hotel and stayed for 2 nights on our way to Edinburgh. The room was large and bright and had lots of places for luggage and repacking. The bathroom was a tub shower combo, and the tub was huge. A smaller person might need to sit and swing into it. The tub was deep. The shower was hot, and the extra large, plush, Terry towels were a treat.The reception staff was helpful and were ready for us when we arrived. They set up our breakfast times and arranged for our cab, too.When we were there, it wasn't overly hot, but the fan was able to cool the room off fairly quickly. The hotel has a lift/elevator that worked well.Breakfast was great! We had a grab and go one day because we were leaving early and we ate our breakfast at the restaurant one day. It was a great buffet style breakfast with the full English options along with fruits, yogurts, cereals, and breads.We walked to the hotel from the train station, and that was a fine walk, but we did take the taxi back when we left. We walked all over the place from the hotel, you cross the bridge, and the Shambles are nearby.We didn't really have a plan when we went to York, but we found tons of things to do. There are street performers, chocolate tours, ghost tours, etc. We did do the hop on the bus. We liked the blue and white hop on ... the driver did the narration, and they were all great and thoroughly enjoyable. The Queen's Hotel was a great place for us to have as a base in York.

The Queen Hotel in room 33 was really very amazing and so fantastic and very lovely and I had enjoyed my stay in the Queen Hotel in York also all the staff at the Queen Hotel in York were very helpful and so really very lovely and so amazing and very good and so really very kind and so respectful and grateful to me and my 1to1 support worker and I would recommend the Queen Hotel in York

Conveniently located comfortable hotel. Within walking distance of the train station and many central attractions. We used it for our visit to the Barbican during the UK snooker championship, again within walking distance from our accommodation.

I stayed in this hotel in July 2023.My room was roomy and lovely , very modern, complementary tea and coffee, t v, hairdryer and toiletries.Bed was comfy too.Lovely cosy lounge area that has a small balcony if you wish to sit outside, with views over the water and the waterfront bars.The location is close by the train station and town centre.I found the Meals to be lovely, l had no complaints, l would definitely come back to stay

After reading some reviews I was nervous but we stayed here for 2 nights it was great..the staff are so helpful the rooms good size clean and warm..Breakfast all you could want and great quality we had 1 evening meal it was good value and really nice.. I do recommend you book early for evening meals as they get booked quickly. I will definately return

The room we had..number 9 was quite big and so fresh smelling on entering.The bonus of a bath is great...the bed was so comfortable...our buffet breakfast was spot on...the hotel is very central...there is a bar in there..well stocked...the staff are very polite & friendly.The location of the hotel is great for shops..& restaurants & bars..would definitely recommend.

The hotel is a little pricey. It hasn’t changed much since the last time I visited in 2006. The bed was comfy and room was clean but the bathroom and decor are a little outdated. Friendly service. Cannot comment on food/drink.

Decent little hotel. We were only here for two nights. Good sized room, very good service from the staff. The wifi is practically useless, but otherwise no complaints. Very good location. We didn't use the restaurant but the breakfast looked ok. We would stay here again.

Situated in the heart of York, just a 5-minute stroll to the Christmas Market, Shambles, and nearby shops, this hotel boasts a fantastic location. The spacious rooms offer an amazing view of the river, and the friendly and helpful staff ensure a clean and enjoyable stay. Although we opted to dine out, the hotel's great price for such a prime location makes it a definite choice for our future visits.

Hotel is perfectly situated for walking into the city centre - lots of pubs, bars and attractions nearby.Staff were helpful and approachable, rooms were well-maintained, and had no problems at all over our 2 night stay.Parking is limited, so you have to reserve when making your booking. Parking has to be vacated on check-out, but the hotel has some flexibility with this depending on availability, which helped us a lot. Would recommend
