Great lunches, delicious cakes and friendly service. Fantastically good value. Lovely village hall and surroundings next to the Lower Derwent Valley Nature Reserve and the Pocklington Canal.

If you haven't already been to the East Cottingwith Cafe I strongly recommend that you do. If you have then I have no doubt you will have been back! The food is quite simply, delicious. There is always a great selection of cakes, a savoury lunch option (usually quiche or soup) and a good choice of drinks, both hot and cold. The value is great too (two pieces of cake and two pots of tea for £6).I love that the tea is served in an eclectic selection of china pots.My family and I like to take a card game and while away a happy hour here in the idyllic surroundings. The village hall has been recently refurbished and the volunteers running the cafe have created a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.Well behaved dogs are welcome as are cyclists and walkers. In fact, it's the perfect pit stop if you are exploring the Pocklington Canal.

East Cottingwith Pop-up Café
Great place to end a Thursday walk to enjoy a calm peaceful of the Derwent Ings or the canalside and see wildlife in abundance. Food is excellent. Always interesting choices, 'homemade' in appearance but to professional quality, and reasonably priced. The ladies and gents that run it are lovely; so welcoming and friendly. If you are in the area on a Thursday then well worth a 'Pop In' to the East Cottingwith 'Pop Up'

This is a lovely little cafe set in a beautifully refurbished village hall. It is run by enthusiastic, friendly, local volunteers. The food is always delicious and the home made cakes are well worth the walk from a neighbouring village for.
