I visited today and asked for advice on what spices to get and ended up getting a full on cooking class advice session from the store owner, a lovely man who adores cooking and was kind enough to spend so much time sharing his wisdom with me. This is genuinely the place to go for your culinary needs in Cambridge especially Indian food, herbs and spices. I cannot recommend this place enough and hope more people support this independent business- truly this was the best most personal and useful customer service I’ve ever received. Thank you again!

I will never return to this store again. I am disappointed with the cashier's attitude. I bought a pumpkin today, and they charged me around 3 pounds more than it should have been (I weighed it on my scale when I got home). Due to their dishonesty, they've lost a customer, and I won't be recommending the store to anyone else.

I went on this shop last tuesday. I went many other shops looking for a particular item and i haven't got it but got it from this supermarket. The buctchery is good and the staffs are so polite. I'm very happy.

Very welcoming and helpful in my search for a specialist ingredient for Meze. Very reasonable prices. Their ethical stance as traders is also to be praised in these increasingly unprincipled times!

Unpleasant experience here when picking up eBay packages, involving both a younger gentleman behind the counter and an older one. I was made to feel unwelcome, and very much as if they were doing me a favour by tolerating me there (apparently they make 20p per parcel and it is not worth their time, but surely if you treat visitors well we are more likely to make other purchases?). Perhaps this is due to the demographic of their other customers. In any case they will not be getting any of my custom in future. The only rudeness I have encountered in recent years in Cambridge has been at this establishment.Their reply below does not address the issue. I had a collection code, proof of purchase, etc etc and item was eventually handed over to me. However it was a very unpleasant experience. Rude people and I will never come here again. Note that I tend to leave positive reviews - not here!

I discovered this wonderful shop today and was presently surprised at the range of products they offer. The young gentleman on the till was very friendly and helpful.

Good variety of products but I always feel that I am ripped off and stuff are not friendly and welcoming.Prices are more expensive than everywhere else, price labes are confusing and they never give the receipt at the till.I went shopping yesterday and I was shocked to see them selling super market branded spices more than double the price ! Taking off the supermarket name. This is so unethical and I think illegal too, will never be there again.

I have been warned against shopping at Al-Amin, yet I did shop there multiple times. The issues I faced :-1- Once I bought daal curry from there in afternoon and when next morning I warmed it to eat, it smelled so bad indicating it's gone stale.2- Once I went up to meat section and asked them to chop it into smaller pieces. The guy there kept insisting it can't be chopped more. I was like okay. Came home and had to cut it into smaller pieces myself.3- Yes, price tags and labels with products in aisles are all confusing and misleading. It is at till you will come to know or if you are conscious to look at the bill.4- Oh yes, do look for expiry dates on products.5- It is because many people in my circle aren't fan of Al-Amin or because of similar negative reviews I read on google that I always feel a negative energy while shopping at Al-Amin...as if they are ripping off.

Very very costly. Product quality is good but not value for money. Excessive cost. You can find same quality in cheaper option in NIP IN store which is on same street 5 mins walkable from Al Amin.I purchased 1 kg NATCO POWA rice flake for 5 pound which you can get easily for 3-3.5 pound in other stores with same quality.
