East Sussex Highways

I have reported several problems online like deep wide pot holes. If traffic lights arent working I phone in if causing a serious safety issue. Each time they have responded in a suitable amount of time and carried out repairs and updated on progress. They probably get fed up with my name showing up on system, but they have likely realised I only report the more serious issues, as I understand the East Sussex Highways staff cannot realistically check all of the roads and pavements every day, so require some public help to bring to their attention the more urgent things to get them dealt with quicker.

Unfortunately there is no option to leave 0 stars. The roads in Bexhill and Hastings are akin to a developing nation. As a taxi driver I have been forced to work at night due to the absurd number of concurrent road closures making day driving uneconomic. I understand that maintenance works need to be carried out but don't understand why nobody ever seems to be working. How about starting and finishing one job at a time rather than starting 20 and never finishing them??

Appalling service and not worthy of any stars. Called and raised online report best part of 2 months ago regarding a blocked drain and water collecting at other end of drive due to no drainage system in place. Have called many times since and also today and constantly get palmed off with same excuses, job raised but no date confirmed, will speak to manager and get a call back. Why is it so hard to come and unblock a drain! I clearly stand no chance in getting my other issue addressed if they can't even unblock a simple drain request. I'm not even going to bother to mention the conditions of the roads as we all know how poorly maintained they are in the area. East Sussex highways you are useless!

I have contact them for some sand bags and have been promised them the same day but I still haven’t received them. I have contacted many times and they have said they will be delivered the same day but now it’s the weekend I have no one I can contact and the water outside my house is building up again!

A truly useless, not-fit-for-purpose organisation that are badly letting down the residents of East Sussex with their awful 'repairs' and continuous inability to proactively maintain decent roadways.The state of the roads in East Sussex is atrocious and dangerous. Who holds these cowboys to account?

Lots of negative reviews and stand 100% behind all the other poor reviewsI've pictures of these clowns and naming and shaming on my socials so feel free to like as fed up banging my headJust had an email after chasing them for 10 months as was due to be offered a settlement figure , now no contact or replies to emails , so don't email complaints as according to Peter walker at East Sussex highways the complaints department don't deal with complaints, what an absolute clown , these are the people sorting out roads and claimsOther ways to recover our costs and a car that was destroyed with over £1000 worth of damage and the car still parked off road due to a 1m x 1.2m x 5 deep crater

Absolute waste of space. No accountability nor do they have any interest in maintaining their own website let alone the highways. I contacted them about some illegal development that was being carried out on our lane and not one single individual I contacted responded to my calls or messages. It's no wonder why councils get such a poor reputation. A dis-organised and rudderless ship - they don't know how to mange budgets and they totally do not understand the concept of providing value for money. If I ran my business like they do, I would have been out of business within 12 months. The CEO Becky Shaw and her senior management team including Rupert Clubb need to get their act together.

Bunch of overpaid morons with no care about the roads and the safety of those using it , put in a claim , was accepted , went to insurance and totally ignored and ghosted , staff at East Sussex highways don't give a monkeys either , sack the lot of them unless clowns

Having just travelled the perimeter of the UK and noting the dreadful state of our roads generally, nothing could have prepared me for the appalling state of the roads in East Sussex - absolutely criminal. How motorcycle riders survive is a miracle! Huge pot holes absolutely everywhere and roads falling apart. Disgraceful. I'm amazed the locals aren't rioting.

tried to speak to someone and phone number is call centre in Yorkshire so they were unable to let me know who is in charge of east sussex highways (as only took contract in May. )to complain as they have ignored my complaint for the last 8 month and due to Highways changing drains my property floods.. Would like to know why to contact east sussex highways is now in Yorkshire and not East Sussex. So much for local help
