Alder House — Leonard Cheshire

I've lived here for just over a year and all I have seen is the home go down hill, there is a lack of staff most of the time witch you end up with agency staff that are not told about the residents needs to sometimes not knowing hot to handle the job, when I 1st came here there was a lovely group of staff but unfortunately most left for reasons up in maneger level, we pay over £1000 pounds a week to stay here and would expect a much better service, I enjoy living here but wish there was some structure in the staffing Again I and many can't but feel like it's management at fault the rooms are well equipped and are of average stile and in keeping , so I rate this home as a 1 star would be 3 to 4 if again managed better

Good residential home for adults with disabilities.

I use to work here from when it open in 1988. Cates for those with disabilities. Then home has grown since I left and name change. Not on a bus route. Grange Hill is the nearest station. Then a walk for 10nins up hill.

This is a dreadful care home. My daughter has suffered greatly at the hands of those in charge of this hell hole. I made 5 safeguarding’s to the CQC while she was here.4/21-7/23. I have fought for the last year to removed her from here and moved her to a much kinder Carehome. No one who worked at Alder in the time my daughter was there should work in care again. I for one am glad this home has been closed. I am happy to give details to anyone in the CQC or considering action against Alder house.IF YOU CONSIDERING A CARE AVOID THIS ONE IF IT REOPENS!

Lovely care home, warm clean. Attentive staff

A fantastic care home, not driven by profits.

I've got to say unfortunately its one of those places were some of the staff are good but management are terrible, disabled tenentes are only brought out of there rooms to eat and then put straight back.I wouldn't leave a loved one there.

I waited to post a review. My wife moved there roughly about 11 years ago. It had great carers at the time and seemed to function well. We have moved her to another LCO site , which has great care and responsive management. I would not recommend Alder House for yourself or if placing a loved one. I am happy to discuss my experiences with you at any LCO location. With an LCO representative present. I would question some of the 5 star reviews that have been placed. Its a beautiful care home
