Beautiful location. The hotel is a big old place, it’s clean and well maintained but quite dated. Doesn’t detract from its character and charm though. There was live music on in the bar and that was fantastic.

we only tried the bar and restaurant. The large salad was fresh and good and the lemon salmon with new potatoes was also fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and could communicate in several languages. we would come back if we are in the area. Restaurant has definitely changed to its positive.

Dundonnell is a beautiful place. The staff appeared a little vexed with the contrary tourists that were resident at the hotel who were making unreasonable demands, so I felt sorry for them. They remained professional throughout which was impressive, and were friendly. The food however was terrible. I'm really confused by these positive reviews. I paid £15 for a petrol station burger with some extremely salty fries and a few onion rings. The bun was stale, the meat was thin, and it was slimy and overcooked like it was done in the microwave - hence petrol station burger. I can get the same quality burger in a shell station for £1.50. It aggravates me not that the food was cheap and frozen, but more that they charge exorbitant prices for that cheap, frozen, microwavable, zero effort food. I felt that I'd been scammed. Happened to see the 14 year old chef walk over the road on our way out too - not surprising.

Pulled in here by chance.Staff were super friendly, we camped in the car park opposite for free as we ate and had a drink in the Hotel. There is use of a shower for £5, it includes fresh towels etcMuch appreciated if you've been wild camping for a few days.Yes, the place is a bit dated, but its clean and the food is great. Oh and they allow well behaved dogs in the bar if like us you refuse to leave your pets at home.

Excellent place to stay if you're doing the NC500. It's an old hotel, but with amazing staff, who took care of every detail. Food was great and the musicians on the pub were lovely!

During our NC500 road trip of Scotland - we chose this place for our night stay. The standard check in was 15:00 to 22:00 pm but we reached around 22:10 pm still they allowed to check in. The hotel is situated at very very remote place but still we got all the necessities we wanted. The rooms were super spacious, equipped with all necessary things and facilities. The bathroom was having a nice bath tub. The bar was fully equipped with nicest brands of liquor. The hotel was having fast wifi even in remote area. Each room had the scenic beautiful view. The breakfast had very limited (hardly 2-3 options) for the vegetarian… except the breakfast everything was so perfect - even the staff was really good and friendly.

Gorgeous location in the centre of the valley with amazing views at the foot of great mountains. We parked our campervan in the car park and they let us stay overnight with a meal - and what a brilliant meal it was as well!

The Dundonnell Hotel
Booked a room as a break from caravan sites on the way round the NC 500. Current ownership only began in April, I believe owners and staff are finding their way round hotel business. Rooms are dated, very much in need of redecorating. Bar menu is limited, with generally ok food. As the hotel is not on mains water, it draws it from the natural water supply in the Highlands. The water comes out brown, with bits of grit in it. There is an A4 poster advising the water is safe to drink, but that is up to the customer.
