Having read some of the reviews it was a pleasant surprise to find it was very good. Great stop off when travelling further north. Food was good too but please train the member of staff on how to use the till before letting him loose on the very tired public. He was hopeless. The other guy on duty had to help him every time.

Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy, but the heating system wasn't very good so the room was cold, which for a sufferer of arthritis made the following morning painful. Also, the hand sink plug was stuck in so the water etc wasn't able to flow away. Told the receptionist on checking out, who was very sympathetic, professional and pleasant to chat with.Despite the issues, I enjoyed the stay and would go there again

I stay in lots of premier inns all around the country as I like to know what I'm getting from the room etc. This one was the dirtiest one I've been in. I found rubbish in the room and hair in the bath. Attention to detail of cleaners is very low. Lots of spiders and webs around the window. Guttering was blocked outside room so it dropped loudly all night. The bathroom fan was so loud I needed to switch it off - it probably needed a clean. There are other hotels in the area that I suggest you try.

Such a great visit. Reception staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. They will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Our room was quite hot but was given a fan straight away and then later on when passing by reception the girl on the desk checked in with me to see if it had improved - such a personal touch!

If you require an accessible room with a walk in shower, please double check before travelling that you have this allocated to you. If they are full it is not possible to swap the room as we found out. Not enough pillows and not enough towels, which seems to be the norm these days. The receptionist was very apologetic and did try to accommodate but not the best first impression. It's handy for main routes but, if it's warm and your window is open, it isn't quiet!

Wouldn't stay here again. The tone is set when you drive in - the outside looks dirty, it needs a bit of a tidy up and a lick of paint. The (ridiculously) huge car park needs the lines redoing.I was given one of the rooms in what I presume is the new wing as it was fitted out in the newer style Premier Inn furniture however it looked tatty, furniture was bashed. Good layer of dust on top of the TV (thick dust behind the TV and areas out of your normal line of sight)... Despite booking a double it was a twin room but I didn't bother going back to reception as it was fine for one night. When I opened the window it was full of cobwebs and dirt - again showing a lack of attention to detail (or care). There were obvious signs of water damage above the door to the room, you could see water marks on the ceiling tiles and also the next morning I noticed water marks on some of the spotlight fittings and a bit of mold on the ceiling round one of the lights.I went to connect my laptop to the TV but the HDMI port in the wall didn't work, when I went to pull my cable out the socket the whole of the panel came away in my hand where it (and the one next to it with the electric sockets had not been secured to the wall correctly and were wedged on the top of the desk against the wall.Restaurant - fairly priced but again similar state to the hotel, there was so much food trodden into the floor that I have to doubt if that was from a messy load of kids at lunch and it had been like that for a while. When I walked back across to the hotel there was a tour guide in reception complaining about the state of the place and that it wasn't what she expected from a Premier Inn.The purple lights behind the bed uniquely shone out of the top and parts of the bottom of the headboard - never seen that before. When in bed there was a constant droning noise coming from the unit above the door so in the end I pulled the key card out of the wall to kill electric to the room to make it stop.Ironically I had a decent night's sleep after that but I wonder if this is a franchise rather than a proper Premier Inn as it definitely falls short of the normal level you expect even if in a slightly older/ tired Premier Inn.

It wouldn’t stop us staying here but there was a bit of a damp smell especially in the bathroom. There is no air con units in the rooms and the window only opens a bit so ventilation is a bit of an issue. Other than those two things it was a great stay.

Usual standard Premier Inn with decent breakfast. Only complaint being the water pressure in my bedroom. So low that I couldn't get a decent shower. That aside no complaints.

This hotel is very shabby and tired. The room wasn’t particularly clean. All carpets were grubby and the whole place desperately needs money spent on it.At dinner we sent back very under cooked chicken, the blue cheese dressing had little taste and the salad was mushy. The staff tried to the charge us for “extras” on our meal deal until we pointed out the error on their part. Overall a very poor experience, we expect better of a Premier Inn. We will not be returning and suggest others look elsewhere.
