Sandy Haven Beach Car Park

A great place for a beach walk with plenty of bins in the car park for visitors to put dog waste and rubbish in.

Lovely beach, offering a variety of sandy coves and rocky fore shore. Great for dog walking with plenty of rock pools and sand to keep them interested.Access Via path at bottom of grassy area, can be muddy in the winter, if tide is out access via slip .Picnic table available at bottom of car park.

Could do with a few signs to tell us what's what, but a great unspoilt beach to explore

Beautiful views from car park, a couple of picnic benches on a grassed area, coastal path leads off it not sure beach is disabled friendly but I think you would get a wheelchair down the slip with great care, a steep hill to walk down from car park

Sandy Haven Beach car park is situated in such a pretty area with a sandy beach and rock pools exposed around low tide. You reach the free parking area along the narrow lane out from Herbrandston and on your left by the campsite. Be aware there's a 7 foot height barrier at the entrance.At the far end of the car park there's a picnic area with barbeque tables where you can sit and look out over the beach and estuary towards West Angle peninsula. A lovely place to take in the view or wait for the tide to drop if you're heading down to the shore. To reach the beach, head towards the bottom of the picnic area and take the path there or walk further down the lane past the entrance.This is a great place to spend a day on the sand and sea or go for a walk southwards along the coast path. Take note of the tide times if you cross the plank bridge over to the other side as the sea comes in pretty quickly and covers the very low bridge in no time.We took out our canoe from here to explore the coastline and paddle up the creek at high tide.

The silence there was almost unreal and there was a breathtaking view. Our dog enjoyed the beach and we the sunny day

Free car park and not a bad beach too.
