Avonmouth Household Reuse and Recycling Centre

After years of really unfriendly staff at Avonmouth tip the new team here are a massive breath of fresh air. Super polite, approachable and helpful. What a difference a change in personnel makes!

The staff are always polite, friendly and ready to help if you need it. The site is well maintained and all tipping areas are clearly marked.

With the new timed slots the site is a whole lot easier to visit. Friendly and helpful staff who know where everything goes. It certainly encourages me to recycle.

Have previously visited and donated to the reuse shop. However on this visit they weren’t accepting donations, which was hugely disappointing, therefore lots of reusable items are now in the waste stream. I really didn’t want to have to take it all home and try again next week. Staff all polite and helpful. But won’t bother again as don’t want the same to happen again.

Another trip to this brilliant service from Bristol City Council and NO queues this time! Great staff as always.This time I tried to bring more upmarket waste…

The new Reuse Shop is a brilliant addition to the Waste Recycling Center at Avonmouth.They offer an assortment of items that have been donated by individuals, and saved from either landfill or recycling.The staff working at the Waste Centre are polite in suggesting that some items could find a second-life through the Reuse Shop.As for the Reuse Shop its self- there is LOADS of variety in what's available. Stuff ranges from used items that have loads of life left in them, to new-unused items that the owners never got around to using.ThePrices are extremely reasonable- the focus is on giving items a second-life, rather than making money.Parking is quite tight, so a little inventiveness may be required, as you can't leave your vehicle on the Waste side of the site.Hopefully this kind of thing becomes more common in the future!The Reuse Shop times are not the same as the main centre. They're open Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 15:00!

Amazing service from the team at Avonmouth recycle centre. Alway very friendly and helpful and organised. Very refreshing after years of the rude and awkward team in my old town of portishead.

I've visited this tip on several occasions over the past few months with my trailer and every time has been a positive experience with friendly staff and no queues or waiting for a skip (although I have been careful to avoid peak times). I like the new pre-booking system.
