This is the first time me and my family went for dinner at this pub. My mum had the fish and chips, my sister had the nut roast and myself had the pork roast. The only complaint I have was that the portions were too big as I was unable to have dessert.

Very dog friendly pub with the best Sunday roast and extremely friendly staff (10 months ago). Revisited this pub today. We sat on the terrace this time. The plates of food looked bigger than last time. I had the best roast beef - 3 large slices of tender beef. The apple sauce went well with roast pork. Although fish and chips was a bit pricey, the fish tasted very good even without tartar sauce.

Pwoarrr !!! very good vegan roast dinner Top marks. The only thing missing is a plant based pud. But I was pretty full tbh. Some of the ice creams are plant based though. Loved it. Great place. Authentic English pub vibes and great staff.

Came in a Sunday afternoon, glad we booked and it was bustling. The staff were really friendly and attentive, I had the roast beef which was lovely and pink. My partner had the pork roast and although the crackling was good the pork was quite dry. The roast vegetables were nice. Nice beer and ale selection, would recommend coming and booking. There's also a lovely outdoor seating upstairs with a view in the summer.

Local easy access. The menu is limited but that was fine as it still provided good choice including a vegetarian option, on the day.It is excellently cooked and well presented dishes and full of flavour. Bery enjoyable.The service needs to improve with attentiveness and detail. Aside from this it was good.The desserts were excellent

I have been to this pub for years and have not been able to visit for a while due to health issues. We want to come back but have heard you have background music all the time. This was for years a pub as it should be for having a drink and a chat and this music (which is completely out of keeping with such a lovely atmospheric pub) has put us off from coming to a pub we loved.for so many years - very sad

Lovely lovely pub. Has a photo of England’s first fatal car crash, which took place in Harrow in 1899. The fish and chips also smelled very good.

Fantastic pub with hidden upstairs seating. Really kind and friendly staff. Drinks are good. I'm definitely going back for food. Great to go early in the week before it get packed. Good for friends and family to enjoy. Great ambience and decor.

Have been visiting the Castle for many years and in all previous visits, the experience has been most enjoyable. However, have not visited the Castle for some time and I looked forward to a return visit especially since on-line menu looked so good. Unfortunately my return visit during lunchtime was hugely disappointing. The actual menu was not the same as that on line and with what was on there, some items were not available which did not omen well for people arriving for evening meals to have run out so early. Also, there did not seem to be any 'specials' board which in the past has always had some interesting offerings. What we did have was quite bland and seemed more akin to boil-in-the-bag food which was so unusual because in the past, the food has been exemplary. A final disappointment was that the coffee machine was not working and there did not even seem to have any instant! However, by far the worst thing was the introduction of musak. This I just cannot understand. One goes to a pub to eat and drink and not to listen to canned music. If I wanted such music, I would opt to go up and down in a lift. All in all, this was a most unfortunate experience and definitely not up to their usual standards
