The Courtyard

My lad has just completed his first year here.He survived ,theres a shop,disco ,library ,gym and its very well organised for moving in day.Dont worry it will be fine.Update 10-march-2019After a successful first year the students are encouraged to find accommodation elsewhere.Its a bit daunting as a parent i know but I can tell you of my findings.My son and courtyard friends looked around the area and came across a shared terrace house owned by Falcon Properties and decided they would give it a try an they all signed up.You as a parent will end up being guarantor for the contract so we went along with it as we didnt see an alternative.On moving in day arranged in conjunction with Falcon Properties you will meed there representetive and have a friendly chat about payment,some rules,penalties for overuse of utilities,bin days and all that stuff.Our Rep was a guy named Steve who seems a firm but fair guy who knows the needs of the Parents and Students and seems to have a good balance with all involved.He listens to all problems and reacts in what i think is a fair way.I would recommend this company from my experience so far.If you can locate somewhare around Newland Avenue ,this is a street that has absolutley everything a student would need outside of collage work from launderette to greengrocer to any kind of takeout.Hope this helps you feel more at ease with your second year choises.

Knee jerk reaction was to leave a one star review. To be fair the accommodation is quite nice however the management is completely disorganised. Twice now I have been charged for things without being told what they are doing. Here's the worse one: at the end of the contract each member of my 8 person flat was charged £10 for failing to clean the communal kitchen despite many of the tenants leaving weeks before the end of the contract. Totally unfair.

A very low quality university, which producing low quality judges and not protecting human rights.

I would NOT recommend moving into this accommodation at all. Had problems since moving in starting with things like silverfish which is just disgusting, reported it to reception about 5 times myself now and my other flatmates have also reported it, all that had been done is a sticky trap left under our toilets for over 6 months now which has done absolutely nothing. Not checked on once since the complaint. When I reported it I was told silverfish are harmless which is not the point, the point is they are still bugs and it’s not fair on us to pay rent for a bug infested accommodation. Then the laundry prices were increased and then I had an issue where I had picked my laundry up and it was absolutely drenched and water was still dripping off all my clothes I rang reception again to complain and they said there was nothing they could do and I should ring the laundry company.I have rang up and reported the black mould on my shower curtain and asked for it to be replaced and my complaint has been ignored and it has not been replaced which is just disgusting. All the reception staff are completely incompetent and unhelpful (except the Irish man who has been helpful). Also we have made multiple reports about our one of our ovens not working about 5 months ago and nothing has been done at all. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ACCOMMODATION. Even thought they have 24 hour reception staff it means nothing. Choose somewhere else like even Ashcourt accommodation I’m moving there this year and it is 100% better than the courtyard. For the amount of money paid which is almost 7k this year on rent it is absolutely ridiculous and it’s a disgusting place to live. I hope future students choose another place to live because you will regret massively living at the courtyard.

a man broke into our flat and we were laughed at and disrespected by reception staff. laundry room sucks, mold all over the bathroom, oven broke 5 times this year. honestly don’t waste your money find an off campus accommodation!!!

Security and management are completely useless on site, the anti suicide bars fall out by themselves and cleaners along with other staff disregard work situations with intentionally waking up students when they arrive. Not only this cleaners will and have refused to clean because the pots from breakfast haven't been washed before they arrive at 9, saying thus they also will just refuse to clean regardless if they don't feel like it. Do not go here, rent a student house even if you are a first year it will save you nearly 3 grand ove the course of the year.

A very good accommodation for Students. The wifi is free and fast, rooms are slightly soundproof due to the amount of fire doors meaning you don't hear many parties and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Too many students hanging around and there were the remains of a pumpkin that had to be stepped around. But otherwise quite a lovely place.

Very nice, modern student accommodation. 24hour security guard so if there are any problems they can be reported. Just a really nice atmosphere and place to live.

Vary well maintained. Good accommodation for student with in campus. Minus point - its costly compared to other student accommodations available nereby university.
