Avoid.I paid £890 for :1. One leaking conservatory roof sheet to be sealed.2. Brickwork to be repointed at front of property above the canopy.3 people turned up to do the work and were gone in less than an hour.The conservatory roof was still leaking. After speaking to Tom he said that nothing could be done without further investigation which would incur additional cost. After getting hold of a set of ladders and going up myself, it turned out that his man had not even sealed the correct sheet that was leaking. I fixed the issue myself in less than 5 minutes.Then, I discovered that all of the repointing at the front of the property had crumbled and large chunks have came out (discovered after less than 5 months, so it probably failed almost immediately after they installed it). So this will need to be re-done by someone competent. Pictures are attached.I am £890 down and back to square one. I should not have been surprised at the terrible job in hindsight considering how quickly they had left.I strongly recommend that you do not use this person. He charges a fortune for small jobs and then does not even do them.Update: some developments!1. A few minutes after posting this review Tom turned up at my front door and, without permission, took pictures of my house. I'm not sure if this was an attempt at intimidation, but it's rather aggressive eh? (To reiterate my earlier statement but publicly, please do not visit my property again Tom, or any of your employees).2. He emailed to say that he did explain about the roof panel and how its age meant no guarantees could be made. He ignored the fact that I pointed out here that his man sealed the wrong panel. So he did not even read this review properly! (Again, I am not a professional roofer but fixed this in a few minutes!)3. He justified the high cost as fair by saying that it wasn't all profit because VAT had to be paid as he was a registered business. (Not sure this logic tracks).4. His unauthorised picture of my house showed the side where the mortar has cracked (and can be wiggled with your finger) but not come out. He used this to say the mortar was intact. So he ignored the pictures I posted on this review! I've included another image with another section of the broken mortar now removed on the off chance he tries to argue it's largely fine.5. Contradicting the above, he then stated that the small section that needed repairing he would do in order to come to a fair resolution" for us both.6. I initially suggested the only resolution I would accept (as I do not want any more subpar work done) was a refund of my £890

Tom's work ethic and professional attitude were second to none. From the start he has kept me informed, provided an honest and reasonable quote and been punctual with every visit. His team have done a very good job and been pleasant to have around. I would highly recommend and wish them well in what will be a very bright future

So happy with our completed renovation by Tom and his team. Very polite, professional and friendly throughout and completed to a high standard. Even our neighbours are complementing our house now.Tom was a brilliant project manager, liaising with all tradesmen so we didn’t have to. And he kept us up to date every step of the way. An excellent recommendation to us and we Highly recommended to others.

Work required was to re-roof a bungalow, and to re-align timbers that had ‘’bowed’’ inwards, in and around a gable end. In addition, adding a small extension which would involve creating a larger gable end, over new extension. Tom created a quotation which was clear and concise with all work to be carried out, at a competitive price. I found Tom to be professional, communicative, and informative at each stage of the work. His team were always on time, friendly, hardworking, and dedicated. We are so pleased with outcome of the work. Just as we wanted and met all our expectations.

Tom and his team Dylan and Gavin are absolutely fantastic. Professional, courteous and experts at what they do.They did everything when they said they would. I was kept up to date and consulted throughout.They cleared up everything very well as they went and with a minimum of disruption across both the jobs I had done.They repaired my chimney, recapping (flaunching) it and repointing where mortar had failed.They did a great job of my canopy over my front door. A tricky job due to them having to rectify the original design and failing structure. This is a substantial structure tied into the extended gable end, they made it safe then rebuilt completely with all new timbers and fantastic structural integrity. Great finishing touches and attention to detail.I would definitely use them again in the future if I needed anything further done.

On finding a leak in our roof during a storm we contacted Tom after seeing his company in the Grapevine magazine. Tom sent two of his team to investigate and they were with us within an hour and made emergency repairs.The same day Tom quoted for permanent repairs which were completed just over a week later.Throughout Tom and his team were polite and professional, Tom supplied photographs before and after the work and and left us feeling confident that we had a roof that should be fit for the next 10+ years.

Tom gave us a quote on the spot, kept us informed throughout then the job was completed in good time. Everyone in the team was a pleasure to work with. Very happy with the result.

Excellent service from this company. Called out to review my 122 year old chimney stack that needed lead flashing & repointing, the guys took pictures of the work needed and offered a detailed quotation covering all of the works required.Following completed works, provided detailed pictures of the work done. Excellent job, well done T Smith Roofing & renovations.

I would definitely recommend Tom for any of your roofing needs. He and his team did a superb job on my flat roof. I was really impressed. Tom is great to deal with, very courteous and offers great service. All round great experience.
