Nice spacious room. Hotel could do with a little bit of paint here and there and there was not enough car parking. That said, I would go back as I thought it was good value for money

Stayed one night at the Highfield hotel we were meeting family there we decided to book a room in advance rather than get a taxi back home , The room was lovely clean very spacious light and airey with comfy beds plus a bed settee and tv . We had a kettle with tea and coffee milk sugar etc and a few biscuits . The bathroom was large with a the usual a toilet, wash basin over the bath shower plenty of clean towels and I can say it's one of the best showers I have used in a hotal and a selection of toiletries . On the landing below they were an area the you could sit and relax .a book shelf with an asortment of books from childrens to adults plus dvds that you could take to your room . The only negative is but it didn't effect us was the breakfast it is breakfast in a bag but not far away there is a large Morrisons and a Mc Donalds where you can pick a cooked breakfast up . I would deffinetly stay again some of our family have stayed at the Highfield previous years . The staff are friendley and very helpful and a very safe hotel the main door is locked and you can only access with your room card . A better price if you book directley through the hotel wesite .

A very pleasant hotel with very welcoming staff and service, offering good facilities with swimming pool, gym and restaurant on site. Only downside is it needs modernisation, but overall not too bad to stay in.

Well I got there for the 2pm check in and there was no one at reception so had to call the number given.By 5pm I had to leave because of personal reasons so again no one in reception so after I call the reception number I was asked to hand back the room key which is a card.Would have given 5 star's if I got some of my money back.If not all. They were lovely staff though.Won't be keen on going back.

The radiators are only switched on once you have checked in, and I can testify having spent an entire night here, the room did not heat up.I went to sleep cold and I woke up cold. My father at least was able to double up on the duvet, but | had no such luck as there wasn't any additional linen or blankets in the room and reception had abandoned post by 23:30There was 'retro night' at the pub/ club that shares its car park and patrons with the hotel, but I needn't have bought tickets as the music could be heard from our room as i tried try to sleep during this pit stop on our long journey. The rooms do not have a phone and theremote control for the TV do not work. I know this to be true as we had to switch our original room, due to the heating not working at all in there, and we had the same remote control issue there. So we went from a freezing room to a cold room in the end.

We chose The Highfield for our wedding and on the whole had a really good experience. Sarah was our in-house wedding coordinator who was absolutely brilliant at helping us figure out the finer details and plan a really special day. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, genuinely lovely people. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. We held our reception here and had a three course meal with drinks followed by an evening buffet with a DJ. The drinks were well mixed, pleasantly surprised to see cocktails and shots on offer as well as the usual pub classics, three course meal was lovely. The buffet was pretty good though a little smaller than expected and the burgers weren't great - all other food was fab though. The DJ did take requests which was helpful and was approachable and polite, only drawback was he played an awful lot of his own preferred drum and bass music when most of our guests are rock fans so people didn't move as much as they could have done, these are very minor quibbles but hence the 4.5 star rather than 5 stars. On the whole though a truly fantastic place to stay, would defo stay again and recommend for events and weddings and was very pleased with how smoothly everything ran. Rooms were clean and comfortable, service good, location in a nicer quieter area so feels safe but not loads to do around and about - less relevant for us but perhaps for visitors. Great value.

We were visiting family and they accommodated us all, my wife and I had already booked a room and my mother and sister (who live in Bradford wanted to stay last minute), we checked in and the rooms were ready early, we went for bottomless brunch, which was fantastic (everyone was attentive, the drinks and food were great - definitely recommend the pizzas!). We then spent a couple of hours in the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, which was a great addition (especially as it's free when booking directly) and very relaxing. After a quick shower and a change, we went for drinks and dinner, the outside area is great on a warm summer evening (despite the slightly wet weather that day), everyone was friendly and it was a great atmosphere, so much so that despite living locally my mother and sister booked another night, so they could spend another couple of hours in the spa!The rooms were spacious and clean, all of the people that work there are friendly and attentive and it's great value for money. We can't wait to return!

Stayed the night after a wedding party. The room was really big, clean and tidy however had no ironing board and the bed was a little hard for my liking although large, maybe king size. I noticed in my daughter's room, there was an ironing board attached to the wall.Staff member available upon check in was friendly, welcoming and explained everything that we needed to know.Bar staff in function were friendly but service was a little slow occasionally. The room and tables were well presented and buffet food was really nice.Location is nice and quiet, a short drive out of the town centre but ideal if attending a function there.

Arrived at the front door but there was nobody to let us in. When someone left the room the other had to sit in darkness. We had travelled a long way, past many other cheaper hotels to get the one with a pool and it was closed. The insanely rude young madam on your reception desk today needs to be taught some very basic manners. Will never darken your doorstep again!
