Brill just had a coffee but menu looked great and food others were having looked amazing. Not too bad prices as well.. may be back for a meal soon.

I've never stayed a night but eaten there many a time. It's too never busy, what's a surprise as it has friendly staff, a nice layout and most importantly the food is incredible yet very reasonably priced.Ideal for a date or a nice meal out.

Super friendly staff, surprisingly delicious food and a lovely room for a pretty good price. Car park gets full but side street parking is easy. Shop opposite for bits for day trips. No castle here regardless of the towns name but it’s easy to move around the other sites like John o’Groats. With a walk to the sea front where you’ll have great views, stumble across a multitude of abandoned buildings and the remains of the factory that used to ship flagstones that we walk on in cities like london, Glasgow and even as far as New York. In use until concrete came along.

Went for dinner and disappointed at the fact there was only a set menu for Christmas (on December 16th) and no a la carte menu, to add to this it was full of spelling errors.When asked if I could add Haggis to my order, the waitress was visibly annoyed and even sighed at my request. Once my partner (who is lactose intolerant) asked for her Dauphinoise potatoes to be replaced with a non dairy alternative she got the same response.Once the food arrived the vegetables were raw and the so called Parma ham" was clearly bacon.To add to all of this

Warm and comfortable restaurant, much better than it looks from the outside. Staff are pleasant, menu not very exciting, the food was ok but not great, , no use for anyone with physical disabilities, lots of steps and stairs.

Door lock not working, heating not working, plug sockets not working, tv too small, no fruit offering for help yourself continental breakfast, shabby interior. Evening meal in restaurant good though.

Partner and myself had a meal here on Saturday night, Both had the Haddock and chips, absolutely fantastic, probably the best I've had in at least 10 yes, service was first class, couldn't fault anything to be fair, after I had my sticky toffee pudding we both left stuffed. A great experience on our doorstep. I look forward to returning....would recommend to everyone. Thanks

No masks being worn on entry infect were told we didn't need to wear them. Very drab from outside. Funeral tea was very good.

Cheeky wee lunch with the wife. Fantastic food. Warm welcome. Great decor. Really nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely Bar Lunch at The Royal Hotel. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and they do half portions if you're not able for a whole one. We didn't have long to wait for our meal either.
