A Shakespeare's First Folio on display is the highlight of this superb museum inside Skipton Town Hall. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I was in Skipton about three weeks. I visited this museum about 4 times. It is tiny, but so convenient (and free) that I would just pop in to take a look at something when I felt like it. Tiny but mighty.

Not one to grumble very offten, this place has me at a loss. I really understand that a grade 1 listed building. I understand that alterations to this type of building are near impossible to carry out, but please don't advertise a place that only has disabled access to the ground floor (which consists of the gift shop & tea room) as being disabled accessible. The museum is on the 1st & 2nd floors with a flight of approximately 15 stairs to each level. We could have gone to another place & not waisted our time or fuel. Great if you want to visit the coffee shop. Able bodied go ahead it looks good from the gift shop.

Since it's renovation the museum continues to go from strength to strength. It is a beautiful, jam-packed museum that presents our history sensitively and imaginatively. And to have a copy of the Folio in its care is just amazing.

This was a very enjoyable museum to visit, which is thankfully free of cost! Face masks are not needed anymore luckily and styluses are provided at the entrance, making usage of interactive boards a lot easier. The exhibitions are intriguing throughout, including ones for caving, farming and communities, showcasing historical heritage in parts. Having the gallery upstairs is a smart move since it is separated from the museum area properly, with experimental artwork really capturing the eye there too!

What a lovely little museum. Very interesting and some weird and wonderful exhibits. My niece had a go at dress up with the clothes. Gave 4 stars as would of preferred the gift shop to sell things relating to the museum ie like copies of fossils, coral etc. Other than thar it was well worth a visit. Entrance is free but we left a donation

What a wonderful little museum. Beautifully laid out with superb AV information. The Richard Ryley story alone is worth the visit and it is all FREE. An absolute gem. Located inside the Town Hall adjacent to the major car park in the town centre. A must visit place.
