Ordered the Sunday roast, must of got my order mixed up with the cobbler next door and served me the sole of a leather boot. Tell you what though, must have some decent microwaves to get through all those orders. Only went there because it was on the gazzetes best in teesside, suppose that says alot about both this pub and the gazzete.

Myself, colleague and client have popped in here twice now on a Sunday for Sunday lunch and were impressed. They are very accommodating and understanding towards my clients' needs and allowed us to order a kids roast dinner too when we explained that she likes us to eat the same as her!

Pleasant large pub in town centre. The food was reasonable and inexpensive and there is parking close by. We visited early on a Saturday evening and there were few customers. Perhaps it gets lively later? Dog friendly. It has some sport tv in the bars but I am not sure what the channel available is? We were not staying in the hotel..

We stopped here for lunch as we were visiting the area while on a break for Easter. The pub was quite busy and there was only one member of staff working behind the bar but she was cheerful and helpful. We ordered for the six of us and had quite a long wait (understandably, given the busy nature of the pub) but the food was enjoyed by all. We all managed to get something to eat - one vegan, one vegetarian, one meat eater and three meat-eating kids, and we all enjoyed what we got. The pub is dog-friendly in non-carpeted areas and there was plenty of room for the two dogs as well. It was reasonably priced, and if we were in the area again we would more than likely pop in. Well done to the staff member behind the bar for staying calm, helpful and professional at such a busy time.

Popped in here for lunch. Staff were friendly. Place was nearly empty at Sunday lunch time! Menu was basic, not a great deal of choice. I had butternut squash Wellington Sunday dinner, a friend had a burger. Burger came with chips and mayo, no salad or coleslaw and very basic, she said it was just ok. My Wellington was nice, but veg was average, roasties tasted frozen? Gravy was really think and tasted like if was from a packet mixed with boiling water. We added cauliflower cheese as a side, again ok, but a bit over cooked and stuck to dish. The chef did ask about vegetarian gravy etc. wuich was nice, we are not vegetarian so usual was fine and good that he checked in case. All edible and ok, but nothing special. I understand that everything has gone up, so happy to pay £14.90 for Sunday lunch, but there are plenty of way better options for the same price locally.

Nice pub with food and sports showing on the TV.Pub is on a main street, so very little dedicated parking, although 2-hour free parking and free overnight parking is available on Fountain Street.

The bedroom was very small. Couldn't close the old sash window - too heavy so had to get staff member to do it. Hardly any storage space - nowhere to hang towels. Unsuitable for older people as no liftThe bar staff and cleaner were fantastic . The food was excellentThe manager was not good at customer service. Got staff to tell us bar was closing about 10.20 yet he was continuing to get drinks for others playing games. He was still serving them well after 11. We had eaten there and were staying over- they were not but he obviously wanted rid of us. We challenged him and he gave us a load of bull but said we could have another drink
