The Hotel Chester

Looking forward to much needed break and couldn't have chosen better. Rhiannon the lady at front of house rang us three hours earlier than check in to say our room was ready. Super friendly lady and couldn't have been more helpful. Beautiful room and absolutely spotless. Super comfy bed and shower. Every amenities and couldn't have asked for more. Will be back at earliest convenience.

We stayed here a few weeks ago and having checked the suitability beforehand for an elderly relative coming with us, we found the room lacking in many ways. If anyone is thinking of staying in the Treehouse then you need to know that there are NO windows, it relies on air con (which was difficult to set). There are a lack of hooks - even a large lobby area suitable for coats didn't have any coat hooks, nor did the bathrooms for hanging clothes. No where to put a washbag etc. Trendy taps made of plumbing pipes don't work efficiently. Having highlighted the bed in the write up - we found it sagging in the middle and way, way too soft. The 'sofa' that you can see the back of in the pictures, is not a sofa - its more like a padded area - truly great for a bunch of kids wanting to watch the huge telly all the time - or a family all wanting to pile on there - but this is not a useful sofa for those wanting to sit around comfortably on. I wouldn't put this as a 5 star hotel. The staff were super friendly though and tried their best to support us.

We stayed at this hotel during our weekend away in chester and had the safari room which was lovely the jacuzi Bath was very relaxing you can watch TV or listen to music while relaxing in it there is also a roof window so on a clear night see the stars. Beds are very comfortable as well. we noticed a few reviews complaining about the music from the nightclub across the road and yes you can hear it (loud enough to tell what song is playing) but it didn't bother us we soon fell asleep this wouldn't stop us returning

Reception was empty upon arrival. Other people walked in and straight out whilst I was waiting for reception. I was asked for a debit card, and I don't carry one. The text confirmation from the hotel arrived at 9.30am requesting a card upon arrival and I had already left home at 6.20am from London and had no way to return and retrieve it. I offered to pay a £1000 deposit up front using my phone card or a BACS transfer and this was declined. Rhiannon the receptionist kept going into the back for ridiculously long phone calls with her line manager. The pair of them decided that a payment on my phone or a BACS transfer wasn't good enough! I was told I'd get a full refund, however she was unable to draft a simple email to confirm this to me. Thank goodness I had battery left on my phone to find alternative accommodation. I was in the dark at 9.40pm on my own, female, looking for another hotel. Absolute disgrace.

The Hotel is new. This is a good thing. It has been renovated and internal of the hotel has mixture of modern and farmhouse feeling. Yet it is a bit over the top...if you could an entire staircase decorated with pink artifical flowers - floor to ceiling - over the top.The rooms are spacious for Europe. I chose this hotel as the rooms have a kitchen. I would call this a breakfast nook and not a kitchen. No real refrigerator and no cabinet space. That, for me, was a disappointment.What really bothered me was that by 7 PM no room cleaning had been done and I had to find some way to dispose of the garbage from my attempts to actually cook some food.Would I stay here again? Maybe. If I was with a significant other and taking in the town, then sure. But on business where I am pressed for time and need to cook food. Probably not.Update - no room cleaning was done. The front desk person was utterly confused when I asked if this was normal. They left the bag of garbage outside my door (why? I don't know) all night. And to make it even worse... The fire alarm went off at 1:30 AM because someone took a shower that was too steamy? That is what I was told. Strange. Won't stay here again. Not with it with so many other great places to stay in Chester.

Lauren and team truly fabulous hosts who provided the best care, the apartment was fantastic and hotel spotless throughout. The location is great . From the welcome to farewell we shared a experience and service worth more than 5stars review. We can't thank The Hotel Chester enough for making our time so precious, all the best for the future and we hope to see you again.

This hotel is a real gem. We booked a two night stay and wished it was longer. On arrival we were warmly greeted and taken to our room which was large, spacious, beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. The room also had a small kitchenette which had everything you could need from basics to microwave and hob. We ate out for breakfast and evening meal so only used the kettle. We will definitely be booking for a return stay.

Perfect in every way! Will definitely be back! Rooms are comfy, and have all the amenities you need. The bathrooms are amazing! Especially Safari where we enjoyed the double jacuzzi bath! Beds are really comfy and location was perfect. Parking right outside in a multi storey and right in the heart of Chester.

We stayed in the Zoo room on a Saturday night. The room was lovely, service was really good but unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again and would find it very hard to recommend that room to anyone. The room was far too hot with a portable noisy air conditioner in the room when we arrived. The windows don’t stay open so it gets very hot at night when you have to turn off the air conditioner. Saying that, we could’ve left it on as the noise (and especially bass) from a nearby club is unbelievably loud. Such a shame, the hotel can do nothing about the local noise but it has to do something about the heat in that room.

Beautiful room. Hotel is gorgeous inside,and the staff couldn't be more friendly. Hotel is in the city walls where all the lovely bars and shops are. Perfect place to stay. Will definitely be coming back
